Job Summary
As a Solutions Engineer in NetApp's Sales function, you will primarily provide pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions. You will utilize your technical expertise and our cutting-edge data storage portfolio to address customers' technical needs and deliver successful business results. You will be assigned to a district team and sales leader, focusing on expanding our presence within existing and new clients together with business partners
Essential Functions:
- Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations.
- Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.
- May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions.
- May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client.
- May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.
Job Responsibilities:
- Designing tailored storage technology solutions to address unique customer challenges.
- Utilizing exceptional communication skills to convey the advantages of NetApp storage solutions through presentations, demonstrations, and discussions.
- Designing an architecting on-premise or hybrid storage systems. (knowledge of NAS, SAN and object storage required)
- Excellent written communication skills and demonstrable experience in responding to RFPs with partners or sales.
- Experience with Backup solutions eco system.
- Developing storage infrastructure and data management solutions for enterprise applications. (also in the context of Cloud Services)
- Deep insight in storage and data management vendor eco system.
- Ability to assist in creating ROI/TCO overview and competitive advantages of solution offerings.
- Collaborating with client executives and partner sales to create strategies for developing customer opportunities related to storage solutions.
- Advising on the engagement and utilization of a broader range of technical resources.
- Offering technical expertise on NetApp's storage products and solutions.
- Applying knowledge of NetApp's processes and cross-functional teams.
Job Requirements
- Over 10 years of applicable experience preferred.
- Experience showcasing a substantial level of expertise in technical specifications to sell NetApp storage products and services.
- Experience working in a Sales Engineering, Solutions Architect, or Solutions Engineering role, focused on storage technologies
- Specialized knowledge in Cloud, Storage, AI/ML, Databases, Microservices, Enterprise Applications or DevOps would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Limited management supervision and direction is provided since this individual operates and drives results independently.
- The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert and strongly influences sales team decisions and initiatives. May also act as a team leader and major decision maker for team projects.
- Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.
- Account management and project management experience.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
- Creative approach to problem solving.
