Job Summary

Are you excited by the pace of change in technology – and the opportunity to drive a global Solutions Engineering (SE) organization into the future?  Do you collaborate across functions to solve problems - connecting dots, people, and teams to achieve outcomes?  Are you effective in working with business units and engineering - as well as the field sales organizations and customers?  And do you show up every day with a passion to be part of a worldclass team?  Then we want you to lead the Tech Team Enablement Office (TTEO) for NetApp.

In this worldwide role, you will align with NetApp’s global SE leadership to drive impactful programs focused on professional and technical development; improvements to tools and process; capturing and leveraging field knowledge; and effective go-to-market coordination with NetApp product business units and cross-functional teams.  Your leadership will inspire TTEO to incubate and drive initiatives that make NetApp’s global technical team more enabled, effective, and efficient – in order to drive growth.

The following activies and projects are illustrative of the range of focus for the Tech Team Enablement Office:

•    Ongoing interlock with business unit stakeholders to equip the technical community with effective messaging, minimum viable product, tools, collateral, and other enablers
•    Involvement in product roadmap definition and communication to/through the field, including processes and communications related to portfolio changes
•    Continuous improvement / enhancement of shared services for solutions engineering – by working with other organizations to meet demands of tech team (LabonDemand, SE tools, NetApp IT, etc).
•    Rollout and evolution of global SE specialist teams focused on key market opportunities
•    Collaboration with NetApp Learning Services to guide/evolve NLS deliverables for the tech team
•    Development/delivery of customized training content (by TTEO for SEs)
•    Planning and cross-functional alignment for major technical events like Converge and/or Insight
•    SE skills visibility, SE job role descriptions, and People Central goal management

Job Requirements

The ideal individual for this role will possess the following strengths:
•    Creativity and thought leadership to identify and execute on efforts to positively impact the solutions engineering organization
•    Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization to determine priorities and achieve outcomes – particularly to gain buy-in and drive progress related to initiatives / charter
•    Ability to align, equip, and support team members – and cross-functional participants – for maximum effectiveness 
•    Understanding of NetApp portfolio including product positioning, solution applicability, and overall value proposition in a broader industry context 
•    Excellent verbal and written communications skills -  including presentation skills and ability to dialog with executive leadership


8 to 12 years of experience is preferred
•    Management experience and managing teams through transformation is preferred
•    More than 5 years in NetApp, preferably in the solutions engineering organization
•    Excellent communication and collaboration skills are imperative
•    A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or another relevant academic discipline or equivalent experience is highly desired.  A Graduate degree is preferred.
