Title:  Global System Integrator Architect

Job Summary

Partner with the Global SI Business Development team, as well as peers on the Global and in-country Architect team, to drive leveraged revenue growth by evangelizing NetApp value-props and building NetApp bias with our Global SI Partners.  Propose and define joint solutions, gain commitment and consensus from the SI’s Solution and Offering Development teams across Product and Service Business Units. Develop, document and support productization of those solutions within the NetApp-SI joint portfolio. Work with the SI to evangelize those solutions to their Sales and Architecture teams, build competence with their delivery teams and drive pipeline growth.

Job Requirements


Partner with the Global SI Managers, and peers on the Global and in-country Architect team, to identify solution areas where the NetApp product suite brings unique value-add to the SI’s Product and Service Business Unit and leverages the SI’s competencies, IP and business model.  Gain the SI’s commitment to invest in the development of those solutions, support business case development, work with their teams to architect and document those solutions, conduct any testing and develop any other documentation required to achieve acceptance of the solution by SI’s IT governance process.


Drive NetApp bias by evangelizing our products and solutions with the SI’s Engineering, Marketing, Sales and System Engineering teams across both Product and Service Business Units.


Support of evaluation equipment at the SI’s demonstration and evaluation centers will occasionally require the ability to install, administer and tune NetApp hardware and software solutions as well as assist the SI with the integration and tuning of their servers, software and networks to support the NetApp solutions.


Provide technical consultation and disseminate product information to the SI’s Engineering and Marketing teams.  Resolve technical questions by analyzing and researching problems.  Draw upon competitive knowledge and experience to favorably position our products against the competition.


Develop and deliver informal training to the SI’s Engineering, Marketing, Pre-sales, Post-Sales and Consulting teams at both their headquarters and their field offices.


Provide technical consultation in preparation for and during jointly sponsored conferences ensuring that topics and material being discussed and distributed at such events are relevant and current with latest joint NetApp-SI value-props.


Serve as the liaison between NetApp Engineering and the SI’s Engineering team.

Aid the SI in responding to technical sections of RFP's and determining technical feasibility.  Work with their Sales, Marketing and System Engineering teams as needed to qualify opportunities help them close potential sales.


Evangelize the SI’s unique business and technical requirements to NetApp Executives and within NetApp's Marketing, Engineering, Sales and Customer Service teams.  Provide feedback to guide future product development.


Monitor NetApp's Customer Service team during critical support crises.  Manage the situation, ensure that proper resources are being deployed, and escalate when required.



Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.  Must be able to convey ideas and solutions in a clear, positive and concise manner using diplomacy and persuasive selling.  Communication skills must include listening, presentation, demonstration, and telephone support abilities.  Must be able to develop professional technical and business presentations and deliver them at all levels in an organization. Able to communicate effectively across large virtual global teams.


Bachelors Degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related technical discipline.  Advanced degree in Computer Science is highly desired.

Ten or more years’ experience in Computer Science or Systems Engineering in a sales environment. Experience in supporting large Global Accounts, Global SIs or Global Partners would be desirable. Expert/consultant level knowledge in one or more of the following disciplines: Storage and Data Management, Converged and Hyper-Converged Solutions, Software-Defined-X, Cloud Technologies and Service Delivery in a Cloud or multi-tenant environment, Big Data Analytic solutions, Business Application architecture and management, such as SAP or Oracle 11i, within an Enterprise datacenter or service provider environment.


• A degree in Computer Science, or equivalent is required. A master degree is preferred.

• 5-10+ years IT industry experience in technical positions where requirements gathering and solution consultation are central to the role.

• Experience with building data centers and IT infrastructure

• Proven experience with public cloud technologies from AWS, Azure, Google, IBM Cloud

• Enterprise storage and server, business continuance experience

• IP Networking and security skills desirable

• Strong technical and project management skills and must be able to work cross-functionally with other development teams and partner organizations.

• Excellent business acumen with a strong ability to map business requirements to technical solutions.

• Extensive travel required – amounts varying by territory.
