Job Summary

Information Security Analyst: Develops and executes security controls, defenses and countermeasures to intercept and prevent internal or external attacks or attempts to infiltrate company email, data, e-commerce and web-based systems. Researches attempted or successful efforts to compromise systems security and designs countermeasures. Maintains hardware, software and network firewalls and encryption protocols. Administers security policies to control physical and virtual access to systems. Provides information to management regarding the negative impact on the business caused by theft, destruction, alteration or denial of access to information and systems.

Job Requirements

- Strong oral and written communication skills.- Ability to work collaboratively and begin to act in a team lead role with other Network Security Engineering team members to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well.- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.- Strong understanding of documentation procedures for systems, changes and desk level procedures.- Solid operational knowledge of common security technologies (e.g. ACL's - basic, extended/reflexive, Firewall, IDS/IDP, VPN, etc.); and experience in hands on support and configuration ability in at least one security technologies; competent at intermediate change configurations in more than one security technologies.- Knowledge and operational experience with other security technologies that can affect change management, security management, audit and control, encryptions, ect. - Administrative experience in multiple versions of operating systems such as Windows, Solaris, BSD, Linex, SCO, HPUX, etc.- Solid scripting ability in Shell, PERL, Python, or other similar use language.- Demonstrated technical writing skills for documentation and process.- Ability to follow documented daily procedures and policies; monitoring tools and response guidelines, escalation and notification processes; and Trouble/Ticket management processes and guidelines. - Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving issues even in unfamiliar environments.Responsibility and Interaction:Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.Interaction: - This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
