Job Summary

The Database Engineer will be responsible for all aspects related to the databases which are used to store NetApp products information. The primary responsibility is to design, develop, document, and support the manufacturing database systems in conjunction with other functional teams, such as test and quality engineering, to ensure the manufacturing sites can meet their deliveries of high-quality products. Additional responsibilities include gathering, analyzing, aggregating and developing reports for business requirements. The Database Engineer will support the world-wide production engineers, providing timely resolution to database related manufacturing issues. Key Areas of Responsibility

- Design and develop queries to process data and generate reports for customer solutions.

- Develop and maintain SQL Server Stored Procedures for ongoing operations.

- Performance tune SQL Server and Oracle databases queries and stored procedures.

- Design, develop and maintain visual reports to support test and quality operations.

- Develop programs in Python to data mine large sets of text files and Hadoop HIVE databases.

- Perform administrative support activities for applications

- Develop data migrations from various structured and non-structured data sources, ETL programs.

- Evaluate and maintain data integration and security

- Support cross functional team’s data requirement needs.

Job Requirements

- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

- After-hour and week-end support are required on demand basis.

- Ability to work under pressure; domestic and international travel may be required to audit or introduce applications to our suppliers

- Strong relational databases knowledge and work experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases is a must.

- Database stored procedures development experience is a must.

- 3+ years T-SQL, PL/SQL stored procedures development experience.

- Developer experience with T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS, JavaScript

- 3+ years PowerShell and UNIX shell scripting experience

- 2+ years Python or R programming experience.

- Cassandra/SQL/SOLR maintenance and administration is added advantage.

- Evaluate and maintain data integration and security

- Support cross functional team’s data requirement needs

- Proficiency in developing reports using Tableau or similar tools.

Preferred but not required

- Experience with Web Services, REST API, Socket.io, Client Server Architecture

- Knowledge of statistical modeling techniques for predictive analysis concepts preferred

- SQL/SOLR maintenance and administration is added advantage

- Oracle Agile PLM support experience

- Developer experience with Oracle Applications E-business suite.

Education

- BS or MS in computer science or equivalent

- A minimum of 3 years’ experience is required; 5+ years of experience is preferred.
