Job Summary

As a Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you work with senior management and NetApp Human Resources to define and execute HR strategies in support of business objectives. The ideal candidate will implement defined strategies at the business unit or division level by developing integrated HR plans. The role will focus on specific areas of expertise and provide broad-based strategic HR support and leadership to NetApp's global organization and geographic regions.

Further, as an employee Relations specialist, you need to ensure that employees maintain and live NetApp values consistently and follow policies and compliance requirements in accordance with employment laws and applicable country regulations, and to mitigate and avoid risk regarding employee relations and human resource practices. This position will be an internal independent and neutral 3rd party working in partnership with HR Business Partners and managers at various levels to provide deep technical expertise in employee relations, insight regarding the work environment, cross-organization analysis to drive employee engagement strategies/changes, and address people-related challenges to achieve business results. The primary responsibilities of the Employee Relations Consultant are to provide guidance, interpretation of policies, investigate matters, and make recommendations for the resolution of high-risk and complex employee relations issues related to investigations, performance management, and organization restructures, or job changes.

Essential Functions:

  • Strategic Business Partner:  Catalyst and facilitator for the translation of business strategies into people strategies.   Add broad perspective and value as the expert people advisor and strategist.  
  • HR Consultant:  See and clearly articulate the root cause of poor organization or team performance. Influence the thinking and actions of the Senior Management Team and their leaders.
  • HR Expert:   Apply experience in a broad range of HR technical areas (talent management, total compensation, leadership bench strength, organization design, etc.) Design and implement HR solutions to achieve business success and enhance organizational capability. Leverage and align services across the HR system and external partners to ensure end-to-end HR service delivery.
  • ER/Investigation Expert: Conduct timely, objective and thorough investigations using the NetApp methodology and processes in response to employee related allegations, hotline reports and external agency claims to mitigate risk, address high-complexity complaints, and achieve effective resolutions. Prepare, complete, and timely documentation and reports of findings for all investigations with follow-through on all matters.

  • Demonstrated strength in project and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to think systemically and “see” ER issues in a larger context – cause and effect
  • Strong analytical skills: and a demonstrated ability to analyze, interpret information and identify trends.
  • Experience in responding to employee complaints; demonstrated ability to objectively coach managers and employees through complex, difficult and emotional issues to resolution.
Education

• Bachelor of Business, Science or Law Degree is preferred.

• 10+ years of progressively responsible HRBP experience as an ER Specialist and/or HR Business Partner with significant experience handling ER issues.

• Sound understanding of employment laws, country regulations requirements
