Job Summary

Project (Information Systems) Mgr: Plans and coordinates all aspects of internal information system-specific projects from initiation to delivery. Projects often involve network, server, or software implementation and upgrades, PC deployment and the like. Coordinates work performed by IT staff and internal customers/partners by defining project requirements, performing feasibility and needs/impact assessments. Develops detailed project plans and manages all implementation processes including resource allocation, progress tracking, monitoring change control process, testing, documentation, training and on-time delivery within budget constraints. Projects may vary in number, size and complexity.

Job Requirements

- Strong oral and written communication skills.- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined measurement criteria.- Ability to conduct user workshops, define requirements, estimate, assess and plan projects; write use and business cases; and design workflow processes. - Strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, IT Service operations, business process realignment and the financial and political elements of an IT organization.- Experience in business process re-engineering methods.- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and utilizing project management applications.- Strong user of Microsoft Project and Visio.- Creative approach to problem solving.Responsibility and Interaction:Responsibility: - The tasks this individual is responsible for are often non-routine and unstructured, requiring creative solutions.- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.Interaction: - This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.- Limited management direction is provided to employee on new projects or assignments as well as review of activities and priorities.- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert on team projects.- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through coaching and influencing others.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
