Job Summary

You will be part of the Release Engineering & Developer Experience team responsible for supporting the mission-critical business services to ensure High Availability and Reliability at Scale.  Release Engineer will work closely with the critical delivery team, both IT and Business, to turn their code into reliable services which serve the backbone of NetApp business services.  The individual must have an in-depth understanding of Release Engineering, GitOps, Observability and deep hands-on expertise in automation, an interest in going beyond the apparent, aptitude for new tools/technologies, and obsession with being part of the team that prides itself deliver world-class services. Design, build and use the various tools that would help in managing, scaling, and monitor cutting-edge technology. In addition, you must be able to triage complex technical issues in collaboration with multiple teams.


•    Provide people leadership and support for a group of mid and senior level engineers in delivering on complex IT projects
•    Define clear goals, delegate workload, and ensuring completion of tasks by technical team
•    Address technical escalations and work with stakeholders in ensuring the delivery of quality IT service
•    Develop partnership with other IT organizations to ensure success in cross functional projects
•    Partner with US team in creating a “Follow the Sun” service model
•    Conduct regularly 1 on 1 and quarterly performance feedback with direct reports
•    Provide thought leadership in creating future technology roadmap


•    3+ years as team leader, manager, or similar supervisory role
•    5+ years in a technical role as part of operations support or engineering
•    Strong written and spoken communication skills, including presentation of ideas with MS PowerPoint
•    Ability to resolve interpersonal conflicts with direct reports as well as peers
•    Ability to work and make decisions independently with minimal supervision
•    Ability to troubleshoot, and solve complex technical and non-technical problems
•    Strong aptitude and desire for learning new technologies
•    Must have “How can we get it done?” vs. “We can’t do it” attitude
•    Strong belief in taking care of the team and putting the team first
•    Experience in supporting a Kubernetes environment both on-prem as well as public cloud
•    Ability to do independent research and develop designs and solution implementation
•    Knowledge/experience working in a DevOps environment and with Agile methodologies
•    Strong understanding of ITIL and ITSM frameworks
•    Experience with application development, CI/CD, REST API
