The NetApp Keystone team is responsible for cutting-edge technologies that enable NetApp’s pay as you go offering. Keystone helps customers manage data on prem or in the cloud and have invoices that are charged in a subscription manner.

Job Requirements

  • Candidate must possess a solid background with a minimum of 4 years of experience in providing both technical and operational support activities for Database Servers. This includes logical and physical database design, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization.
  • Should be proficient in PostgreSQL database cloning using Pg_dump and Pg_Restore. They will be responsible for reviewing all PostgreSQL logs and addressing any problems that arise. Experience with Postgres Connection Pooling, specifically PgBouncer, is essential.
  • Hands-on operational DBA expertise is required in the areas of Replication, High Availability, and Backup/Recovery. Advanced performance-tuning skills are needed to review performance data and prepare comprehensive reports. Moreover, SQL and Linux scripting skills are a must for this position.
  • Strong communication skills are imperative, as the candidate will need to manage escalation calls effectively. Experience working on an Application/Development team or as an Application DBA is highly valuable.
  • The role involves managing Development, QA, Staging, and Production databases and applications, ensuring future enhancements meet the business needs of end users. Monitoring database health in terms of availability, reliability, performance, and capacity planning is a critical responsibility.
  • The candidate will be tasked with upgrading PostgreSQL Databases and ensuring the monitoring and uptime of all production databases. They must estimate PostgreSQL database capacities and develop methods for monitoring database capacity and usage efficiently.
  • Leading efforts to develop and improve procedures for automated monitoring and proactive intervention to minimize downtime is expected. Additionally, they will be responsible for reviewing developer SQL code to ensure queries are optimized and tuned to perform efficiently before production release.
  • Regular maintenance on databases is part of the job and should be capable of supporting complex web-based applications and handling Automatic Switchover and Failover processes.

Education

IC - Typically requires 5 to 8 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a related role
