Title:  Senior DevOps Engineer

As a Cloud Volume Service DevOps Engineer, you will play an important role in scaling systems sustainably through automation and evolving them by pushing for changes to improve reliability and velocity. You will administer cloud-based environments that support our SaaS / IaaS offerings that are implemented on a microservices, container-based architecture (Kubernetes).

Essential Functions:
•    Work with other Cloud Volume Services development and QA teams to ensure maximum performance, reliability and automation of our pre-production deployments and infrastructure.
•    Develop software, both as components of our solution and outside of the solution, for deployment automation and packaging and monitoring visibility.
•    Identify tasks and areas where automation can be applied to achieve time efficiencies and risk reduction.
•    Debug and troubleshoot service bottlenecks throughout the whole software stack.
•    Monitor availability, usage, and overall system health.
•    Provide on demand support to Cloud Volume Services engineering team

•    Strong understanding of systems design and networking, with regards to performance and scale.
•    Familiarity with the lifecycle of cloud services - from design to deployment, and operation
•    This individual interacts primarily with engineering team, SRE engineers and hyperscaler partners.
•    Proven experience in Devops or similar role. Experience in developing CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Microsoft Ev2; Jenkins) container orchestration, deployment/monitoring. 
•    Demonstrated Linux/Unix experience.
•    Familiarity and understanding of one or more public cloud services: AWS, Azure or Google Cloud compute.
•    Proficient in one or more scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, bash and Powershell etc. 
•    Experience in automation with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Terraform.
•    Knowledge with container ecosystem/technologies, especially Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins etc is preferred.
•    Expertise in deployment, monitoring of the containers and related technologies

Education

A minimum of 7 years of experience is required.  7 to 12 years of experience is preferred.
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, a master’s degree or equivalent experience is required.
