Title:  Senior Network Security Engineer

Job Summary

The network security engineer will be responsible for the creation and implementation of security designs and capabilities across NetApp’s information networks to protect NetApp’s intellectual property.  The work is focused on security for cloud, hybrid cloud and on-premise networks, applications, and resources. This position must be well-versed in the current technical security landscape across application, system and network layers and will have to stay abreast of evolving technologies and security trends.

Job Requirements

•    Lead in planning, design, and deployment of on premise and hybrid cloud security platforms and tools
•    Provide oversight to cloud development and operations teams with implementations of security controls in the cloud
•    Work closely with architecture teams to form requirements, help translate those into viable solutions and perform proof of concepts to validate requirements
•    Collaborate with other security teams to help shape security standards and author architecture and systems documentation
•    Review and advise on identified security gaps or concerns pertaining to new infrastructure, applications, and services
•    Provide documentation, training, and support for the transfer to operations of security solutions
 

Skills

•    Direct experience designing, implementing, and operating security solutions to protect data and IT systems hosted in the cloud, on premises and hybrid cloud 
•    8+ years’ experience with hands on implementation of security solutions such as firewall, VPN, Load Balancer, WAF, IDS/IPS
•    4+ years working with one or more cloud service models (Infrastructure as a Service, Platform as a Service, and Software as a Service) and deployment models (public, private, hybrid)
•    4+ years direct experience designing and implementing security solutions for one or more leading cloud providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform)
•    Experience with various operating systems such as Windows and Linux
•    Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills and ability to communicate verbally and in writing with customers, associates, vendors, and management
•    Work with Internal Audit, IT Governance, IT Compliance, and other key stakeholder groups on specific projects
•    Working knowledge of risk assessments, configuration management, change control, and security baselines and frameworks (NIST CSF, NIST SP 800-171, CIS)
•    Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with audience appropriate content
 

Education

•    Desired: a minimum of 10 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.  
•    Certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, CISM, CCIE Security, and AWS/Azure Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
