Title:  Software Engineer (C,C++, Python)

To support NetApp’s vision, the Data services team is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Data services team. 

As a Senior Technical Member, you will participate with senior team members in designing and implementing data service solutions, working with bleeding-edge technology to help deliver value to our customers. We are seeking a software engineer capable of building performant and scalable applications working in a cross functional way to accelerate data personas building AI applications. The Software Engineer should also have a strong understanding of the latest AI infrastructure technology trends, industry developments, and business priorities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about making AI accessible for developers and is eager to make a significant impact in a dynamic, innovative environment. The Software Engineer will play a crucial role in driving our AI initiatives and contributing to our overall business strategy.  

You will work as part of a team of skilled engineers accountable for participating in the design, development, debugging, maintenance & testing.  As part of the Research and Development function, focus on enhancements to existing products and new product development. 

Job Requirements

Experience working with data catalogs and machine learning applications 

Strong understanding of natural language processing and AI technologies. 

Implement natural language processing capabilities to allow users to discover and process data. 

Experience in C, C++, python, or an equivalent language  

Experience in working with Git or other version control systems.  

Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools. 

Creative and analytical problem-solving approach and a sense of ownership 

Experience in working with CI/CD technologies 

Operating systems Fundamentals – Strong OS fundamentals, Data structures and standard programming practices, Experience in System and Kernel programming  

Strong aptitude for learning new technologies 

Ability to estimate work completion required to build an overall predictable plan  

Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills  

Understanding of public cloud architecture, cloud application development and deployment is desirable  

Good to have 

You have significant experience applying machine learning to real business problems 

Working experience with ONTAP is desirable 

Education

Typically requires 8-12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or a Master’s degree; or a PhD; or equivalent experience.
