Job Summary
The Lab on Demand team provides pre-configured lab environments for a variety of audiences and use cases. These labs facilitate education, product demonstration, and troubleshooting.  The team builds and manages a variety of automation frameworks for both virtual and physical environments.  We also communicate directly with the users of our services for support purposes.
We are seeking an experienced individual to join a distributed team of skilled engineers maintaining, automating the systems, the labs that run on them, and support the users of environments during their use.  The role requires a deep understanding of the audiences using these environments and the technology that they use. This person will interact with multiple internal and external groups that are both consumers of the service and producers of the content for it.
Essential Functions:
  • Participate in regular staff meeting with technical and cross-functional teams to ensure continued smooth operation of the services.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues that occur in the system infrastructure and/or lab environments.
  • Monitor helpdesk and respond to user requests for support, to include instructors teaching classes and subject matter experts developing lab content.
  • Schedule delivery of lab environments for training and/or field events.
  • Enhance lab development tools for use by team members in their daily activities.
  • Produce documentation or knowledge base articles to speed resolution of recurring issues.
  • Actively develop new skills with the technologies employed across the service.
  • Automate delivery of labs and maintain the repositories
  • Upgrade and maintain any tools that is used by team
  • Ensure uptime of tools used by team and employees
Job Requirements
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems, and their use in public cloud.
  • Experience in either Python/Perl/PHP and also in NetApp hardware and software.
  • Strong knowledge of SAN and NAS storage concepts.
  • A focus on automating processes is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other team members and external parties to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer-facing environment.
  • Ability to follow standard and team-defined engineering principles and practices.
  • Creative approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines.
  • History of collaboration with IT operations, multiple business functions, and other departments.
Education & Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required; 6 to 8 years of experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor of Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or other related field is required; or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
