Job Summary

The Big Data Architect will be responsible for setting- up of new platforms to provide solutions for new projects and enhancing the existing infrastructure. You will play a Big data admin role and perform technical feasibility analysis, solution, design, and deploy Integrations to interact with diversity of applications, automate business processes and improve efficiency. Design and development tasks may be highly complex and impact multiple functional areas.

Interact with peers, other functional experts, business analysts, operations, partners and vendors to evaluate technical feasibility of Integration solutions; provide estimates of resources required to complete assignment. Provide technical help and supervise more junior Programmer/Analysts. Take an active leadership role in weekly staff meetings to align projects/tasks with department goals and deliverable schedules. Responsible for quality assurance and code review of programs developed by other developers on the staff. Responsible for development, enforcement and evolution of ‘development standards’.

Job Requirements

 

  • Excellent knowledge and experience Big Data eco-system administration
  • Hands-on experience in working with Hadoop Distribution platforms like Horton Works, Cloudera, MapR and others
  • Excellent knowledge of Hadoop ecosystem
  • Hands-on admin experience in working with Spark , YARN, KAFKA, NoSQL like Hive, HBASE, Cassandra, MongoDB
  • Knowledge in time-series or in-memory database like InFluxDB, Graphite, MemSQL, Redis  etc.
  • Excellent knowledge of UNIX/LINUX OS
  • Knowledge of Log Analyzers/Management tools like Splunk , ELK etc.
  • Knowledge of cluster monitoring tools like ZenOSS, Ganglia, or Nagios
  • Knowledge of networking and storage
  • Good experience of shell scripting
  • Knowledge in WebLogic, Tomcat, Apache HTTPD, Nginx
  • Knowledge of configuration management and automation tools like Puppet, Chef , Ansible - desirable
  • Ability to work collaboratively in highly matrix environment, within a team of other programmer/analysts cross functional peers, vendors, partners to support deadlines
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, collaboration, negotiation and organizational skills
  • Strong ability to dive into the ambiguity and construct clarity, and provide unambiguous information and instructions
Education
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience is required. 6 to 8 years of experience is preferred.
  • A Bachelor Degree required; Computer Science, Information Technology, or related technical field is preferred.
