Job Summary

Job Summary:

As a Technical Marketing Engineer for Cloud Data Services, you’ll work cross-functionally across business within NetApp in some cases with NetApp Partners to enable customers to adopt Cloud Data Services Products and services, thus enabling our customers digital transformation. This involves, working very closely with Product Engineering teams and ensure customer requirements are addressed in our Product portfolio. This role will primarily focus on driving adoption of NetApp SaaS Backup Service for Microsoft Office 365, SFDC, Gsuite and other SaaS Services.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide Technical Evangelism to the field and customers on Cloud Data Protection and Data Management.
  2. Content Maintenance – Perform updates, revisions and removal of content in the engineers area of expertise and ensure currency of technical content, Materials subject to maintenance include: Technical Reports, PPTs, FAQs, White papers, etc.
  3. Advanced Training – Develop technical training contents in the form of PPT presentations, VOD, Demos, and Webinars in the engineer’s area of expertise, Training audience will include NetApp Field personnel and Channel Partners. Work closely with NetApp U course developer to develop relevant training modules in the engineer’s area of expertise.
  4. Education and Self Development – Continue to develop Subject Matter expertise through external and internal training and excel as a technical evangelist in the engineer’s area of expertise.
  5. Customer Interaction – engage with NetApp Sales when required and provide subject matter expertise / demo’s and participates in Architecture design sessions with Executive briefings with the customer. This involves briefing and discussion at Executive level.
  6. Engineer is expected to maintain competitive vigilance and feedback into Product Management and Engineering.
  7. Collaborate on strategy with product management to create and review Solutions Requirement documents (SRD), Reference Architectures and Solution Guides, and Test Plans. This includes participating in cross functional teams to develop product and solution roadmaps.

Job Requirements

Technical Skills & Job Requirement:

  1. Hands on Experience with one or more SaaS Services like Microsoft Office 365, SFDC, GSuite, Slack, etc.
  2. Hands on Experience with Microsoft Office 365 is Mandatory.
  3. Good understanding about designing & implementing Cloud Infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  4. Demonstrated hands-on experience in designing, building, and operating complex infrastructure solutions consisting of server, networking, and storage components and data protection solutions.
  5. Experience building solutions for public, private, and hybrid cloud use cases including analyzing, evaluating, and recommending innovative, cost effective data center components for cloud architectures.
  6. Experience in authoring technical white papers as well as project conceptualization and planning
  7. Exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills
  8. Excellent partner interaction, written and verbal skills.
  9. Experience in enabling pre-sales is a plus.
  10. Demonstrated ability to have successfully completed multiple, complex technical projects
  11. Strong verbal and written communications skills including presentation skills and should be able to communicate across the hierarchy of management and influence investments in the area of work.
  12. Ability to plan, outline, scope technical project and drive project to closure and deliver in time.
  13. Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization in all the geo’s and should lead and drive technical projects.

  7. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and complex tasks in a dynamic work environment.
  8. Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
