Job Summary

General Description: 

We at NetApp Inc. are looking for a Technical Support Engineer to provide enterprise-level assistance to our customers. You will diagnose and troubleshoot software and hardware problems with respect to NetApp Storage. Ultimately, you will be a person our customers trust. They will rely on you to provide timely and accurate solutions to their technical problems.

Primary Job Functions:

  • Provide Tier II or Tier III technical support to enterprise clients, Resellers and Third-party support providers on complex and escalated scenarios.
  • Provide troubleshooting and technical support via phone, Web based tools and email.
  • During problem escalations, act as a liaison between customers and Engineering support.
  • Collaborate with other teams and experts whenever required to solve complex technical issues.
  • Continuously develop skills leveraging several learning tools available at NetApp Inc.

Job Requirements

Required Skills (Must Have):

  • Total experience of 5-8 years
  • Willingness to work in rotational shifts.
  • Strong understanding with Backup and Data protection concepts.
  • Good understanding on any backup application (NetBackup/Networker/TSM/CommVault).
  • Strong Understanding on NDMP protocol for backup/restore architecture, components, and Methodologies.
  • Good understanding on replication concepts Snapmirror/snapvault/SvmDr architecture, components, and Methodologies.
  • Familiar with Block storage and Cloud storage architecture.
  • Troubleshooting Windows, Linux, VMware Environment.
  • Strong understanding of network troubleshooting Ethernet, TCP/IP routing, FC and iSCSI, DNS LDAP/Active Directory protocols.
  • Good Understanding of Snapshots.

 

Desired Skills (Good to have):

  • Hands on backup applications.
  • Any Backup application certification.
  • Any of VMware, Microsoft, NCDA, CCNA Certifications.
  • Linux filesystem and backup knowledge.
  • CCNA certification.

Education

Education:
B. E or B. TECH graduate (Computer Science, E & C, I.T, E&E) from a reputed college.
