Job Summary
We are looking for a senior, highly strategic Marketing leader to own naming and messaging across our portfolio. This is an individual contributor role designed for someone who operates with executive presence and deep subject-matter expertise, influencing direction across Product Marketing, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, Sales, and GTM teams.
In this role, you will serve as the center of gravity for naming, positioning, and messaging excellence, partnering closely with Product Marketing leaders across businesses to ensure consistent, differentiated, and customer-driven narratives that scale across the company. This role carries broad ownership, visibility, and influence across the organization.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who combines strategic rigor with exceptional writing and storytelling skills, and who operates as a trusted partner to Product Marketing leadership.
This role is central to defining and operationalizing our end-to-end messaging framework — from platform narrative and customer pillars, through solutions and products, down to launches, sales motions, and copy used across customer touchpoints. While this role does not manage people, it carries broad ownership, executive visibility, and outsized influence across Product Marketing, Product Management, Corporate Marketing, and GTM teams.
Role Overview
What You’ll Do
End-to-End Messaging Ownership
- Define and evolve the end-to-end messaging architecture across the portfolio, including:
- Platform and portfolio narrative
- Customer pillars and outcomes
- Solution-level messaging
- Product-level positioning and value propositions
- Feature and capability framing
- Ensure messaging works as a coherent system — not disconnected artifacts — and scales across audiences, channels, and use cases.
- Establish clear connective tissue between high-level narrative and day-to-day execution.
Naming & Messaging Strategy
- Own naming strategy and governance for products, platforms, solutions, and capabilities, including frameworks, criteria, and decision processes.
- Define differentiated positioning and messaging grounded in customer needs, market context, and competitive dynamics.
- Partner with Brand and Legal to ensure alignment with brand architecture and naming requirements.
Product Marketing Leadership Partnership
- Act as a strategic partner and peer to Product Marketing leaders across business units for everything from messaging to naming.
- Influence how PMM teams frame products, solutions, and launches through strong point-of-view, guidance, and hands-on collaboration.
- Serve as a senior reviewer and advisor for high-impact messaging, launches, executive narratives, and strategic initiatives.
- Help raise the overall bar for messaging quality, clarity, and consistency across Product Marketing.

Copywriting & Storytelling :
- Be deeply hands-on in writing, not just reviewing:
- Positioning statements and value propositions
- Messaging frameworks and guides
- Launch narratives and key messages
- Executive-level storytelling and talking points
- Foundational copy used across web, sales, and GTM assets
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling, customer-centric language.
- Set copy standards and exemplars that PMM, Corporate Marketing, and agencies can build from.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product Management to translate roadmap priorities and innovation into crisp, outcome-oriented messaging.
- Collaborate with Corporate Marketing and Brand to ensure alignment between product messaging, brand narrative, campaigns, and thought leadership.
- Work with Sales, Enablement, and GTM teams to ensure messaging is usable, differentiated, and effective in the field.
- Incorporate customer insights, competitive intelligence, and market feedback to continuously refine messaging.
Operating Model & Standards
- Establish messaging best practices, frameworks, and templates that Product Marketing teams can consistently apply.
- Champion message discipline and customer-first storytelling across planning, launches, and execution.
- Help shift the organization from “product catalogs” to outcome-driven storytelling.
Job Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in Brand, Product or other Marketing or related strategic marketing roles.
- Proven expertise in naming, positioning, and messaging for complex technology portfolios.
- Operate comfortably as a peer to senior Product Marketing leaders, influencing without authority.
- Exceptional storyteller who can distill complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value narratives.
- Highly collaborative, with strong executive communication skills and sound judgment.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable owning critical messaging artifacts end-to-end.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working across multi-product or platform-based portfolios.
- Familiarity with brand architecture, naming governance, and trademark considerations.
- Background in enterprise infrastructure, cloud, data, or SaaS markets.
Education
Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business or a Technical Field or, additional equivalent experience in place of a Bachelor's degree.
A Master's degree or MBA will be accepted with less related experience as stated above.
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $240,000-275,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
