Job Summary

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for defining and prioritizing new software features, driving the overall product roadmap and ensuring the commercial success of NetApp products.  They interface with customers, sales teams and channel partners to understand customer problems and evaluate business opportunities around new development projects.  The Senior Product Manager brings this intelligence to the business and product development teams to inform future product and business planning priorities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Interface with NetApp customers and prospects to understand strategies around IT infrastructure and where NetApp products can solve customer problems.
  • Develop deep understanding of the market landscape for software defined storage and detailed knowledge of competitive products.
  • Develop product requirements that detail how our product can address the most meaningful challenges our customers are facing with storage infrastructure.
  • Work with the product team to build and maintain the product roadmap.
  • Drive strategies to maximize product profitability, revenue and market share.
  • Evangelize software defined storage within NetApp and beyond. Present the product vision and roadmap to customers, partners and internal teams on a regular basis.
  • Work with sales engineers and architects to support new opportunities.
  • Support the Product Marketing team to ensure proper messaging and positioning of our products within the market and the NetApp portfolio.
  • Deliver sales, engineering, and support trainings to NetApp customers, partners, and employees worldwide.

Job Requirements

An ideal candidate should possess some combination of the following skills and experience:

  • 5+ years in product management /technical marketing with a focus on the hybrid-cloud ecosystems, preferably storage.
  • Previous experience working hands on with large Enterprise IT customers/environments.  Strong knowledge of operational practices and requirements for large scale enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • Forward thinking: Deep understanding of the enterprise private and hybrid-cloud market and the role open ecosystems play in delivering on premises products for private cloud environments.
  • Communication skills - Ability to build and nurture strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders including Engineering, Sales and Marketing.
  • Presentation skills – Whether working with NetApp executives or thought leaders at Fortune 500 Enterprises, a successful candidate must be able to effectively deliver a compelling vision of the strategy and value proposition for our Software Defined Storage products. 
  • Strong technical background in IT and storage.  NetApp operates in a very technical market and expects you to go deep with the technology. You’ll need to be able to hold your own in internal and external meetings.  Technical acumen with VMware, Kubernetes, and Enterprise security practices is highly desired.  

Education

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences, Engineering, or equivalent technical experience. MBA desired.

If the Company determines this role will be performed in Colorado, the starting salary for this position is $172,440. This role could be eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), Company bonus, and Employee stock purchase plan *. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors such as location, qualifications, certifications, relevant work experience and other factors, consistent with applicable law.
