Job Summary

NetApp is seeking a highly motivated Software Engineer 4 to join our Platform Engineering team with a focus on Continuous Integration (CI), Continuous Delivery (CD), and Developer Productivity. In this role, you will design, develop, and operate scalable CI/CD platforms that enable engineering teams to build, test, secure, and deploy software efficiently and reliably.

You will work closely with software engineers, quality engineering, SRE, security, and platform teams to improve release velocity, increase automation, and enhance software quality across the organization. The ideal candidate combines strong software development skills with deep expertise in CI/CD systems, cloud platforms, infrastructure automation, and DevSecOps practices.

As a senior technical contributor, you will drive platform improvements, establish engineering standards, mentor team members, and influence the evolution of our software delivery ecosystem.

Job Requirements

  • 8-12 years of experience in Software Engineering, DevOps, Platform Engineering, CI/CD Engineering, or related technical roles.
  • Proven experience designing, building and operating enterprise-scale CI/CD platforms.
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical initiatives and driving engineering best practices.
  • Strong software development background with experience in cloud-native and distributed systems environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction across multiple teams.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable CI/CD platforms supporting multiple engineering teams and products.
  • Develop reusable pipeline templates, shared libraries, and automation frameworks to standardize software delivery practices.
  • Automate build, test, deployment, release, and infrastructure provisioning workflows.
  • Improve developer productivity by reducing manual processes and enabling self-service automation capabilities.
  • Integrate security, compliance, and governance controls into CI/CD workflows and deployment pipelines.
  • Collaborate with engineering, QA, SRE, platform, and security teams to improve software quality and release velocity. 
  • Experience with source control and development workflows, including Git, branching strategies, merge strategies, pull request workflows, repository governance, and code review best practices. 

 

Technical Skills- Preferred

  • CI/CD Platforms, Jenkins, GitHub. Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipeline design and implementation, Python, Golang, Bash, Groovy, PowerShell Kubernetes, Helm, Docker

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related technical discipline. 

The target salary range for this position is 170,000 - 253,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
