Senior Defence Account Manager

Job Summary

NetApp Australia is looking for a Senior Account Representative to develop and advance our business nationally in the Defence & Intelligence sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting a multi-year strategy for meeting aggressive revenue and product targets. You will be expected to bring new ideas and an innovative approach towards business development, actively network, and work with industry partners to deliver outcomes for our customers.

This role is a high paced, results-oriented sales position. You will need to feel comfortable working on both short and long sales cycle pursuits. This role requires leadership and an ability to influence internal, partner, and customer based stakeholders at all levels to align with major initiatives.

Job Requirements


Expected Activities:

  • Actively engages Defence Account Stakeholders to understand Defence’s acquisition plans and prepare opportunity plans for the submission of bids and proposals to place NetApp in a strong position to win.
  • Actively engages with internal business and professional service organisations to develop joint pursuit plans and show a united face to the customer
  • Engages industry partners for collaboration to strengthen the sales propositions.
  • Prepares account and opportunity plans.
  • Lead complex sales programs and coordinate internal stakeholders.
  • Keep the business informed of the advancement of business opportunities.


Key attributes

  • Prior experience in a technology-related sales position: A minimum of 5 years Sales/Business Development/Account Management
  • History of creating innovative and successful sales strategies in a rapidly changing sector of the industry
  • Knowledge, experience and network of contacts within the Defence organisation and Defence industry
  • Ability to obtain & maintain an Australian Defence Industry Security Clearance
  • Self-motivated, as well as a motivator to others - shows initiative
  • Excellent presentation with a professional, confident and friendly outgoing
  • Experience and understanding data science fundamentals and next generation cloud or infrastructure solutions will be well regarded.
  • Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree
