Job Summary
The successful candidate will oversee component engineering governance, processes, tools, and activities. This role focuses on Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical (EEE) components in NetApp products. The Component Engineer will utilize technical skills in component research to select components that meet technical requirements, minimize costs, ensure second source availability, and manage obsolescence risks. Responsibilities include developing component requirements, selecting parts, analyzing alternatives, addressing obsolescence issues, considering environmental factors, and collaborating with OPM, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Contract Manufacturers.
Job Requirements
- Technical proficiency in Electrical/Electronic/Electromechanical/Mechanical/PCB parts, with system-level knowledge as a plus
- Clear understanding and demonstrated knowledge of Form/Fit/Function (FFF) equivalence
- Up-to-date knowledge of RoHS, REACH, and international environmental standards for electronic components
- Good grasp of standard quality requirements
- Experience in Oracle Agile PLM, including creating MCO, CO, and DO
- Familiarity with 3rd party component databases like IHS/Z2data
- Previous experience in a similar work environment
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Proficiency in English and Microsoft Office Excel
- Attention to detail, independent yet collaborative teamwork, good problem-solving abilities

Education
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical &/or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2 years' experience is mandatory as a Component Engineer
