Job Summary
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining NetApp’s Cloud portfolio. This individual will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficiency of our cloud environment while working with state-of-the-art technologies and supporting expanding connected services. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement cloud based solutions for business needs.
Job Requirements
- Very good understanding of basics of Computer, Operating Systems, Networking, and Storage technologies.
- Very good working/hands-on knowledge of at least one Public Cloud platform (AWS/Azure/OCI) and its services, such as AMIs, Route53, VPC, EC2, S3, IAM, EBS, ELB, and SQS (including but not limited to AWS)
- At least 2 years of extensive hands-on experience with one or more Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, and OCI
- Advanced Cloud Networking and Security skills at least with one cloud. AWS Advanced networking is a plus.
- AWS or Azure certification required (AWS preferred).
- Experience with implementation, operation, support, and maintenance of IT infrastructure in both public and private (VMware platform) environments
- Expert-level knowledge and system administration skills on Windows and/or Linux
- Expert-level understanding of frequently used application protocols such as DNS, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SMTP, SSH, and SSL/TLS
- Very good understanding of Networking (both cloud and on-premises) and networking protocols. Previous experience with Cloud Networking with multi-region hybrid setup is a plus.
- Good scripting ability in Shell and Python; familiarity with Python is preferred.
- Working experience with Terraform and Ansible automations is a plus.
- Good documentation and presentation skills. Articulate designs and architectures in visual is preferred. MS-Visio skills is a plus.
- Knowledge in Storage technologies and storage protocols is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Be an evangelist for IT infrastructure with deep understanding of the environment, technologies used, deployed solutions and business use-cases.
- Architect, Proof of concept, implementation procedures and oversees the implementation of cloud-based solutions for business challenges and needs.
- Be a Subject Matter Expert in services offered by public cloud providers, particularly AWS, Azure and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
- Taking ownership of technological tower(s) and drive standards and roadmaps.
- Owning AWS, Azure and OCI account management such as governance, policies, resource lifecycle, cost, security and Access control.
- Being an advocate to modern Infrastructure, continuously reviewing and optimizing solutions to fit the need and cost effective.
- Work on the principle of Infrastructure-as-a-Code, automate the deployments, enhancements and configuration management.
- Participate actively in architectural forums, leveraging expertise and representing the area of ownership.
- Interact with multiple teams, stakeholders, and management to drive solutions.
- Manage complex projects with large scope, conflicting priorities, and timelines.
- Ability to present solutions to technical and non-technical (management) audiences.
- Collaborate with various operation teams (L1-L3) to understand the operational challenges and provide innovative solutions.
- Be the escalation point for troubleshooting issues.
- Interact with technology vendors as a point of contact for technical and non-technical requirements.
- Work closely with team members, coach, and advocate for the best interests of the company
Education
- BA/BS Degree in Computer Sciences or similar with 8 years' experience
