Position Overview
As an FP&A Intern, you will support NetApp’s Financial Planning & Analysis team in Cork by assisting with the EMEA-LATAM Sales annual operating planning process, headcount management, reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives. Working alongside experienced finance professionals, you will gain exposure to business planning, forecasting, financial analysis, and cross-functional collaboration while helping to turn data into meaningful insights for decision-making. This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop analytical, technical, communication, and business partnership skills within a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
You should have the unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the entire duration of the six-month internship. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship. You are required to come into the Cork office a minimum of three times a week as part of our hybrid work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, coordination, and ongoing improvement of annual operating plan materials, financial models, reports, and performance dashboards.
- Assist with headcount management activities, including tracking movements, validating data, supporting reconciliations, and preparing headcount-related reporting.
- Collect, validate, and analyse financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and insights that support business planning and decision-making.
- Help improve existing FP&A processes by documenting workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and supporting automation or simplification opportunities.
- Prepare reports, presentations, and analysis for finance stakeholders, business partners, and leadership teams.
- Collaborate with other finance functions and cross-functional partners to ensure accuracy, consistency, and business relevance of planning and reporting outputs.
- Apply strong analytical, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills while learning new finance tools, systems, and business processes.
- Use Microsoft Excel effectively; familiarity with PowerPoint, Power BI, SQL, or other reporting and visualization tools is a plus.
Your Profile
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and an organised approach to managing tasks and deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently while building positive relationships and contributing effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
- Proactive and eager to learn about FP&A, business planning, financial reporting, and process improvement.
- Curiosity around AI and how it can be leveraged to improve and inform FP&A processes and insights.
