Position Overview
As a Software Engineer intern you will be contributing and building Microsoft Azure NetApp Files (ANF) - an award winning first party cloud storage solutions that enables companies to deploy and run business critical workloads in the Microsoft Azure cloud. You will work as part of a team responsible for building software defined cloud storage solutions that run on Kubernetes; and work closely with the development team to understand the existing architecture and support the design and implementation of customer facing features.
This internship provides hands-on exposure to cloud environments, AI-enabled data management, documentation, testing, and collaboration within a global engineering environment.
This role is open to 3rd year students looking for a 6-month internship as part of their degree program. You should have the unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the entire duration of the internship. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship. You are required to come into the Cork office a minimum of 4 times a week to ensure you make gain the most knowledge during this internship.
Key Responsibilities
- Work on and develop features in close co-operation with our partner, Microsoft.
- Build understanding of Unix systems and enterprise-scale functionality.
- Explore and integrate AI-based techniques to enhance data management processes. Use AI to explore code functionality, improve existing tests, and develop new features. Document design, implementation, and testing processes clearly and consistently.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and receive mentorship while gaining exposure to NetApp and Microsoft technologies.
Your Profile
- You must be a current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Working efficiency in C, C++,.net, and goLang programming languages. Python is a nice to have.
- Basic knowledge of operating systems, architecture and debugging tools. Understanding of AI and machine learning concepts and interest in their application in data management.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
