Position Overview
From micro-services to the latest ML/LM technology, NetApp’s KDE team works across a wide range of technologies and applications to deliver compelling solutions for the business.
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern to join the KDE team. This internship provides hands-on exposure to maintaining, enhancing, and implementing products, while building practical experience in software development, documentation, presenting, collaboration, and problem solving.
This role is open to 3rd year students looking for a 6-month internship as part of their degree program.You should have the unrestricted right to work in Ireland for the entire duration of the internship. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide sponsorship. You are required to come into the Cork office a minimum of three times a week as part of our hybrid work culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance, enhancement, and implementation of KDE products and applications.
- Contribute to development activities using programming skills, preferably C# or another third-generation programming language.
- Assist with UI and UX design activities to improve product usability and user experience.
- Help test, evaluate, and document product features, enhancements, and technical improvements.
- Build practical experience with technologies such as Linux, Docker, ML/LM, test cases, MongoDB, Jira, and Bitbucket.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and collaborate with team members to identify solutions.
- Contribute to documentation, knowledge base content, FAQs, and other technical resources.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and cross-functional collaboration to develop technical knowledge and skills.
Your Profile
- Basic understanding of computer architecture, data structures, and standard programming practices.
- Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and applying them in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
- Creative and analytical approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a distributed team environment.
- Familiarity with virtualization and cloud technologies is an advantage.
- Additional European language skills, such as French, German, or Spanish, are an advantage but not essential.
- You must be a current student of a bachelor’s degree in one of the following technical disciplines: Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or related subjects like Mathematics, Physics.
