The digital future is based on data and Software Defined Storage brings data management to the data source wherever it might be. As the Product Manager for Software Defined Storage you will define customer solutions centered around virtualized commodity hardware servers. You will evaluate business opportunities in the Software Defined Data Center segment and optimize the product portfolio through analysis and understanding of targeted markets, market trends, new technology, customer business issues and the competitive environment. You have broad knowledge of company product capabilities and service offerings with in-depth analysis of market position to create and expand the portfolio of products and solution alternatives. Working closely with product development to create products and validate early product definitions with customers is essential to your goals. You have the aptitude to acquire technical expertise and extensive industry experience to formulate product strategies and identify new product opportunities. You will establish a strong focus around execution of go-to-market plans for the purpose of expanded market share.

Job Requirements

- Ability to cover a broad set of virtualization (ESXi/NSX/Hyper-V/AzureStack/KVM), networking (L2/L3/SDN) and Software Defined Data Center technologies.

- Ability to dive into technical details related to customer requirements and complex use cases – often represented by the combination of application, compute, networking, storage and security requirements.

- Marketing experience with go-to-market strategy and execution in the technology industry.

- Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas.

- Ability to function well in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

- Excellent understanding of NetApp's products and services technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.

- Excellent verbal and written communications skills; presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.

- Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and lead cross functional teams.

- Often acts as mentor or facilitator.

 

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
