Job Summary
As a Strategics Sales Engineer Director, you are responsible for managing teams selling NetApp's Products and Professional Services to several, large key Global Enterprise customers. Your ability to help penetrate new divisions and organizations within assigned accounts is essential to your being successful in this role. Cross-functional teams from NetApp's Marketing, Sales and Product Development functions provide support and tools for you to leverage to attain and exceed sales performance goals.
Candidate must be located within the region of assignment or willing to relocate to be considered. Based on this vertical, the ideal location(s) are New York, NY, Dallas, Texas or Charlotte, NC.
Provides strategic direction for the development of innovative and compelling solutions. Drives solution development and partners with sales, product management and technical leaders to win new business.
Job Responsibilities
Working directly with teams assigned to our largest customers, the goal for the Strategics Regional Director will be to capture sales opportunities and to work effectively across functions with other NetApp employees by:
• Leading with a Growth Mindset.
• Building senior technical customer relationships to gain buy-in with decision makers and ensure continuity of existing revenues, while simultaneously driving growth of all product revenues.
• Creating relationship maps within accounts with plans to expand depth and quality of relationships with buyers and influencers, thereby expanding breadth of product sales.
• Continuously assessing customer business requirements and continue to maintain and educate stakeholders on NetApp’s value proposition and best-in-class products.
Job Requirements
- Drives up to date and consistent pre-sales technical knowledge within Solutions Engineering job function to ensure innovative and competitive solution development
- Fosters collaboration between sales team and other stakeholders to deliver solutions that deliver on profitability and customer service goals
- Oversees solution feasibility, costing and approvals
- Leads and develops a team of Solutions Engineers
- Continuous development of technical expertise by keeping abreast of industry trends and technological advancements
Experience and Education
- Typically requires a minimum of 15 years of related industry / technical selling experience
- Mgr & Exec - Typically requires a minimum of 10-12 years of related experience in a leadership role.
- A thorough understanding of go-to-market strategies including account segmentation, products, marketing strategies, etc.
- Broad exposure to a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment.
- Experience working with leaders in other departments (Sales, Product, Support, Marketing, Operations, etc) on larger scale projects, initiatives of customer engagement strategy
- Leadership experience within a technology company (Data Storage, Infrastructure, Data Intelligence, AI, Hyperscaler, Cloud or related) is highly preferred
