What's in for you?
At NetApp, in the Engineering Tools & Services organization as a Linux Systems Administrator with a focus on Security, you are part of a team that is responsible for NetApp's internal engineering infrastructure and services. This work may span private and public cloud infrastructure, networking, storage, applications, and platforms. The team is responsible for planning, designing, and implementing end-to-end solutions, self-service solutions, and with coordinating with internal teams and outside vendors. You will engage in large and small projects, working through analysis, design, and to solve NetApp engineering challenges.
Your Area of Responsibility
We are looking for a Linux Systems administrator who has a strong passion for Linux systems and security overall, to help maintain and support Linux systems, security applications, logging, and monitoring integrations as well as working on other systems across NetApp engineering. Tasks will include maintaining the OS as well as additional security tools, validating that the security and configuration tools are working correctly and reporting correctly. Primary focus area would in support of our NetApp Germany teams, as well as other areas of NetApp. This may include writing automation and maintaining configuration management on these systems.
Your Profile
- Keep up to date with emerging security threats, trends and technologies to recommend appropriate solutions and controls.
- Collaborate with team members to design, implement and manage security controls and processes to protect our infrastructure, systems, and data.
- Monitor, investigate and respond to security incidents, vulnerabilities and threats.
- Conduct security assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend remediation actions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align security requirements with business goals and drive security best practices across the organization.
- Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and NetApp requirements.
- Lead security audits and compliance assessments to ensure that our systems meet relevant standards and regulations.
- Strong experience with Linux OSs: Debian, Red Hat, Ubuntu
- Maintain best practices on managing systems and services across all environments.
- Including patch and configuration management
- LDAP/Kerberos, automounts, etc
- Proactively monitoring system performance and capacity planning.
- Asset inventory controls
- Creating and modifying scripts or applications to perform tasks.
- Python, Ansible, Terraform, bash, etc.
- Provide input on ways to improve the stability, security, efficiency, and scalability of the environment.
- CIS benchmarks, SELinux, encryption, firewall, security tooling
- Performing other duties, as needed.
