Job Summary

* Role will be based out of the Phoenix, AZ

As a Solutions Engineer in NetApp's Sales function, you are responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales support for selling NetApp's whole Portfolio of Products to existing and potential customers. You will utilize your excellent technical and relationship building skills in working with other vendors, partners and NetApp resources to ensure that optimum solutions are provided to customers for today’s hybrid data center needs.

In this position your overall focus areas will be in supporting and developing skills for quick and thorough responses to customer RFP's, provide solution configuration recommendations, and apply your background and experience to deliver solutions to IT business and technical needs.

Essential Functions:

The essential responsibilities of the Solutions Engineers are to work directly with customers in pre-sales and post sales situations, and to work effectively across functions with other NetApp employees in Sales, Engineering, Architects, Marketing, Customer Service and Development areas. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Define all of the elements of a customer's business, technical and cloud IT needs.
  • Develop business and technical relationships with key customer, partner and NetApp personnel
  • Provide technical designs and support to current customer and 'try-and-buy' test projects.
  • Work with Sales to respond to RFP's.
  • Attend customer calls on your own and with your Sales Representatives within your assign account list.
  • Provide technical consultation and disseminate product information to the sales team.
Job Requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, partners and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.
  • Account management and project management experience.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.
  • Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Understanding of use cases for Hybrid Cloud and Hyperscaler (Public Cloud) solutions
  • Travel to the prospective customer's sites as necessary
Education
Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience.
