Job Summary

This is a transformational role within NetApp that will drive our North America Cloud Data Services go-to-market (GTM) with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). On this team, you will be responsible for all aspects of joint selling, partnering, GTM activities, sales enablement, pipeline management and opportunity reporting. Not only will this position be responsible for the day-to-day sales strategy, but it will also establish and measure regional performance criteria and provide market feedback into engineering and product organizations to shape future roadmaps. The US Public Sector Google Cloud BDM role will be a part of our Google Cloud GTM Org that reports to the NetApp Cloud Data Services Business Unit.


Essential Functions: The role of the US Public Sector GCP BDM is to align the NetApp GTM strategy with Google Cloud’s GTM. This role is primarily responsible for building relationships with Google Cloud stakeholders across the region and acting as the business development entry point to the GCP sellers. This role will also help customers evaluate NetApp’s data management offerings for their applications, recommend solutions that meet their requirements, remove roadblocks to deployment and drive customer satisfaction.


Key responsibilities include: Develop and maintain a sales growth plan that includes mapping to the appropriate GCP resources, prospect into Account Teams and Partner Sales Management to build relationships, manage sales opportunities, create a sales pipeline and deliver a revenue forecast to NetApp Cloud Data Services leadership. Requires disciplined business-management, relationship building and enthusiasm to exceed sales targets and operational standards. Build and transform new markets and lead transformational shifts for our customers. Develop, communicate and provide high business impact solutions that enable digital transformation. Build and maintain a positive experience with the cloud partner and our customers.  

Job Requirements

Proven ability to effective develop and manage pipeline and deliver results for GTM Strategy.  Collaborate cross functionally and with partners and NetApp field sellers.  Define territory strategy for opportunity qualification, creation, and management.  Strong communication skills with the ability to actively listen, interpret and respond with astute consideration for the customers pain points and challenges.  Requires organizational agility, needs analysis, value engineering, services/partner engagement, opportunity management, pipeline management, and large dollar licensing and deal negotiation. Experience and expertise selling large cloud deals to senior business decision makers by aligning and reinforcing the value of the solution to the customer’s overall business pain and/or strategic opportunities and decision criteria. Ability to solve customer problems with a solid understanding of GCP, specifically solutions related to new internal LOB apps and external facing apps, migration to cloud, Hybrid cloud, datacenter infrastructure modernization, DevOps/DevTest along with knowledge of enterprise and competitive cloud solutions. Success in previous roles selling through or with partners and joint GTM efforts. Ability to work collaboratively and be open to direct feedback.


5+ years experience leading SaaS/Cloud Computing Sales focusing on government clients

10+ years demonstrated sales leadership success, leading high-growth, emerging businesses a plus

Experience selling enterprise software and services

Experience with hyperscale cloud computing

Experience collaborating with cloud partners

A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineer or Computer Science; or related field is required

Graduate Degree is preferred
