Job Summary

Reporting into the Senior Manager of EMEA Marketing Strategists the Marketing Business Manager is accountable for managing and developing the marketing strategy to help grow the business in Germany. Acting as the single point of contact to the leadership, this is a broad, senior level role which includes a combination of strategic marketing, planning and project management leveraging the full breadth of Marketing to deliver against the specific market requirements. The primary intent of the position is to expand the adoption of current customers as well as to position the business for growth by entering new logos and market segments. The role will be required to drive the go-to-market strategy based on marketing plans that are consistent with objectives in a high-growth, agile data management and technology environment.

The fundamental responsibilities will include but are not be limited to:

  • Own the development of an integrated marketing plan that meets the business goals, delivers sustainable growth and positive results for Germany.
  • Act as the single point of contact to the leadership team.
  • Align with leadership to be in sync with their local market opportunities and challenges. Ensure that goals and metrics meet the global corporate and business success needs.
  • Is the conduit between Germany and the broader teams. He/she represents Marketing for Germany and the related interests when collaborating with the different Marketing functions across the geos and worldwide. 
  • In collaboration with key stakeholders, build, identify, and manage opportunities to drive pipeline to help Sales achieve their bookings goals.
  • Develop marketing plans in alignment with key business requirements and business units. The marketing plan should include both direct and indirect routes to market and focus on multi-touch campaigns.
  • Oversee the outcomes and results of marketing execution in partnership with the Germany leadership and refine future strategy and execution through data and insights.

The Marketing Business Manager Germany holds responsibility for:

  • Development of the Market Strategy (all routes to market) for Germany by collaborating with key stakeholders
  • Development and articulation of the Strategy Execution Priorities to different Marketing groups like Geo Strategists, Revenue Marketing, Reputation & Influence Marketing, Learning Services, Solutions Marketing, Digital Marketing by working with the Geo Marketing Leader
  • Collaboration with Marketing functional teams to build Germany execution plan including activity-specific goals and outcomes
  • Provide guidance to all marketing functions on specific local requirements
  • In alignment with business needs and demands, develop marketing strategies to focus sales/funnel progression, pushing the customer through a structured (but flexible) journey
  • Become funnel expert for all leads and conversation-ready engagements within Germany. Work closely with Sales, Digital Sales Reps, Campaigns Teams, Revenue Marketing and the wider marketing team to push opportunities through the funnel all the way to close
  • Identify marketing strategies to help close late-stages opportunities, both marketing generated leads/engagements and non-marketing
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to evaluate and assess campaign analytics to help Sales understand opportunities sitting in and moving through the funnel and pipeline
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to see the big picture and alignment to sales and marketing opportunities
  • Work in close collaboration with Account-Based Marketing team in Germany and EMEA

Required Skill Set in addition to the above:

The position requires a senior, independent, results-oriented professional with expertise in marketing enterprise software and hardware as well as consumption-based solutions.   • Min. 8-10 years of related experience.
  • Understanding of and interested in current Data Management, Technology and Cloud markets, relevant industry trends and competitive landscape. Previous experience in the IT or IT-related industry.
  • German native speaker. Excellent German and English verbal and written communication skills. Being capable of speaking additional languages is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work both independently and on cross functional teams.
  • Proficient presentation, customer service, business, and negotiation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build integrated marketing plans.
  • Experienced in all typical in person and digital marketing tactics.
  • Ability to present and position marketing plans and concepts to different audiences.
  • Passionate, bold networker. High energy, enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Proven ability to excel in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude.
  • Passion for digital, social skills are highly rated.
  • Competent in industry-standard Marketing tech stack, CRM systems, collaboration / process / content management tools and programs.
  • Requires occasional travel.
