The Senior Business Development Mgr role will have its home in the EMEA partner & pathway organization, managed by Kristian Kerr. Reporting to Jennifer Koch as the team manager. Major Cloud stakeholders in the Cloud Data Services segment you will be working with are Cloud Marketing, Cloud Sales, the Cloud Business Unit and Cloud Architectural personas in EMEA as well as in the US.

Your Mission

Live & Breath Partner Business Development

  • Become the CDS compass for internal key partner & pathway staff in FY20
  • Set your priorities alongside with NetApp`s strategic direction & your probability to win/succeed with a country team in CDS.

​​​​​​​Accelerate Diversed Partnerships

  • Support, accompany and accelerate the CDS partner landscape in cooperation with key country field teams. This includes the NetApp Unified Partner segment, Cloud Firsts, “New-to-NetApp” / “Cloud Born” partners and the 3 major cloud providers.

Candidate's Profile

  1. You must be a strategic, innovative, outcome-oriented thinker, who will deliver sales advisory support to the partner & pathway organization of NetApp in EMEA.
  2. You will enjoy being a CDS Champion and evangelize public cloud initiatives throughout the partner & pathway organization. And become the internal & external Cloud Data Services partner sales compass. Including the development and maintenance of personal relationships to effectively teach and create high attention.
  3. You are able to create concrete milestones for public cloud GTM initiatives and projects. And will ensure country/geo team`s buy in to the EMEA milestones. While managing/orchestrating deliverables through all phases of the business development cycle in cooperation with local business stakeholders.
  4. You demonstrate a strong ability to influence and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including departments like Marketing, NetAppU, Channel Management, Business Development, R&D, Cloud Business Unit and NetApp`s program office.
  5. You are mature in English and confident to effectively deliver strategic pitches as well as programmatic partner sales & enablement presentations. Outlining partner benefits and partner to customer business values with all global cloud providers.
  6. You are motivated to take calculated risks in following new thinking routes and business modelling ideas with NetApp teams and key partners. While evangelizing/leveraging NetApp`s unique Cloud Data Fabric capabilities. 

Job Requirements

Partner Service oriented mindset. A Principal Cloud Architect in NetApp`s European partner & pathway organization who must be patient and sympathetic towards partners requirements, their current business situation and the business transformation mode they are currently in. Must often evangelize people, who are struggling to detect and invest into their “new” data driven cloud opportunities.

Listening & Transformation skills. A Sr. Business Developer at NetApp who must be able to understand the challenges and risks that NetApp partners eventually have to undertake while moving parts of their still successful, profitable legacy on-premise NetApp business towards the cloud. And transform perceived risks into an opportunity argumentation.

Business Value Translation skills. A Sr. Business Developer at NetApp who must be able to “translate” and demonstrate NetApp`s cloud solutions in the context of overall or industry specific customer requirements, challenges and trends, partners will face while addressing their customer base or new customers during their cloud journey.

Agility & “Start-up” mentality. This is a dynamic market and team. Hence you will be expected to develop the “unusual” and strongly support our team as well as NetApp as an organization to enhance processes, tools, programs and techniques. And constantly share eventual improvements and “best practices” across stakeholder team(s) in EMEA.


  • A minimum of 10 years of sales or channel sales experience is required
  • Experience in managing/succeeding with international and/or diverse virtual teams is key
  • A strong understanding of software driven sales processes will be expected
  • A successful history in data center technology and infrastructure legacy environments is of high advantage
  • Experience working with or for public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure and/or Google is a key advantage in this role
