Job Summary

As the Solutions Engineer (SE) in NetApp's Sales function, you are responsible for providing pre-sales support for selling NetApp's Solutions to existing and potential customers leveraging our Channel Partners. You will utilise your excellent technical and relationship building skills in working with vendors, partners and sales to ensure that optimum systems solutions are provided to customers.


In this position your overall focus areas will be in supporting and developing processes and systems for quick and thorough responses to customer RFP's, provide systems configuration recommendations, and apply your background and experience to deliver solutions to technical problems.

Job Responsiblities

The Senior Solution Engineer is responsible for customers, partners, alliances and the NetApp team engagement team at both high level discussion and working ethnics. 

For customers, the Senior Solution Engineer is required to lead account engagement from a technology perspective. The individual must be able to utilize in-depth knowledge, broad experiences and consultative skills to help the customers in solving their business problems with NetApp and NetApp related technology. The Senior Solution Engineer must be able to extract business needs, challenges and be able to transform them into initiatives which can address their challenges, business needs while being financially justifiable.

For partners, the Senior Solution Engineer is required to lead Partner Pre-sales communities in particular subjects. The Senior Solution Engineer must be able to coach, guide and help Partner Pre-sales to deals with projects. The incumbent must be able to lead by example and be capable so as to gain the trust among the partners to leverage on sharing of opportunities.

For the alliances, the Senior Solution Engineer is required to understand our Alliance Partners within the NetApp eco-system and capable of providing sound advice to NetApp's Alliance Parnters with integration and linked value to NetApp technology.

Lastly, the Senior Solution Engineer must be able to work as a team with the Sales Rep, Professional Services and Technical Support team to ensure consistent and continuity of experiences in the use of NetApp technology.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years in pre-sales role in a similar environment
  • 3+ years of system software related companies or cloud based companies is advantageous
  • Experiences in coding especially in infrastructure automation such as Puppet, Chef, Kubernetes and Ansible is a plus
  • Capable to lead business discussion with ability to leverage technology as part of discussion
  • Can quickly understand business model and be able to form business model as part of solution discussion
  • Skills & experiences related to hyper-scale cloud - AWS, Azure or Google Cloud platform are good to have
  • Fluent in English and local language(s)
Education
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent is required. A Graduate Degree is desired.
  • Experience which demonstrates a significant level of expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services is required.
  • Specialized knowledge in breadth and/or depth.
