Title:  Professional Services Consultant

What do we do ?

Designs and develops detailed technology solutions through consulting project activities.

Technical responsibilities include translating NetApps business requirements into specific systems, applications or process designs for large complex technology solutions and integrating architecture; system architecture definition, hardware/software specification and/or design, implementation, testing, client training, and solution deployment.

May have some financial responsibilities including project cost estimating, proposal generation, and invoicing.

May participate in sales and proposal presentations in addition to completing ongoing team account activities. Identifies additional product/services opportunities in customer organization.

• Senior level position for industry experts with excellent technology and consulting skills possessing extensive professional field experience

• Key member of the Architecture team, delivering design and development leadership to the Keystone team of developers and engineers

• Understand and translate business requirements into technical solutions

• Ability to converse and influence on multiple levels within NetApp and customer organisations – comfortably engage with technical staff on the detailed hands on level and with managerial / sales level stakeholders

• Security – act as a security lead in the architecture team, reviewing designs against security practices, oversee adoption of internal security standards and tooling by development teams, engage in discussions with customer security teams as part of deployment planning.

• Lead and deploy highly complex post-sales hardware and software architectures, installations, and integrations

• Own the product deployment with the customer, responsible for engaging with datacentre, network, security and storage teams on the customer side and articulate requirements to these teams

• Understand signoff and testing procedures for ensuring production readiness

• Onsite and remote subject matter expert with NetApp, IT infrastructure, applications, security, networking and Cloud services, in a context of deploying a software product with applicable infrastructure.

What do you bring to the table ?

• The following technologies/areas of expertise are essential (hands on experience is required) to this role:
• Experience in building architectures and designs for integrating complex software products and multiple infrastructure elements into production environments
• Virtualisation & Unix- Kubernetes, containers, VMware/vCenter; Linux (RHEL/CentOS, Debian)
• NetApp ONTAP (AFF + FAS); data centre storage environments
• Cloud & Hyperscalers - experience in working with infrastructure distributed across physical and cloud-based environments
• Network integration between managed environments and customer data switches (Cisco 9K’s, layer 2 VLANs, trunking, 10 / 25 / 40 / 100 GbE, SFP’s, LC fibres) 
• Firewalls- building designs for integration of firewalls into customer and production networks including outbound access to internet, IPSEC tunnels supporting routed management subnets and exposure of product infrastructure management interfaces via external interfaces. Observability, logging, resiliency planning and internal knowledge transfer. o
• Strong focus on automation and orchestration- CICD pipelines, infrastructure as code, Ansible playbook development and integration with REST APIs.
• Willingness and ability for ongoing learning of new technologies and assessment of new platforms against requirements
• Provide detailed project planning, design, implementation, and final “As-Built” documentation
• Design and architect company marketed solution sets and other custom consulting
• Follow appropriate escalation guidelines, as required during customer engagements
• Maintain excellent verbal and written communications skills
• Ensures all assigned work tasks are completed in an effective and efficient manner
• Assigned as “Technical Lead” and mentor on teams deploying large, complex, and strategic projects
• Broad and detailed exposure and understanding of a variety of technologies/concepts in a distributed environment

• NetApp technologies - StorageGRID and S3, E-Series, NetApp HCI, SolidFire, Trident 
• Persistent Volume Claims under Kubernetes, the role they perform and use of NetApp Trident o Data-centre deployments - racks, cooling, power, fixed network cabling
• Firewalls - Palo Alto, Cisco, pfsense, physical and virtual appliances
