Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Compliance specialist to join our Ethics & Compliance (EC) team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in ensuring our partners (distributors and resellers) adhere to our compliance standards and regulatory requirements. This position will focus on partner compliance and partner risk management globally, supporting the EC team  in implementing and maintaining robust partner compliance programs.  

You will report into the Lead Ethics & Compliance International based in Cork Ireland, and support in our current regulatory partner compliance program as well as further enhance it and create additional policies and processes to ensure an ongoing effective program, compliant with global laws.  You will be responsible for assessing our company operations to determine regulatory compliance risk and advising management on company’s compliance with laws and regulations through regular reports. Through training and other communication, you will continue to educate our partners and employees on regulatory compliance and take action in case of non-compliance situations. You will further partner closely with Legal and outside counsel as needed.

 

NetApp has a hybrid working model supporting working from home, but with an in-office expectation of 3 days a week. 

Responsibilties

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the EC team in developing, implementing, and maintaining partner compliance programs.
  • Ensure partners adhere to the company's compliance standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in drafting, updating, and communicating the company's Code of Conduct to partners and related compliance policies.
  • Ensure partners understand and comply with the Partner Code of Conduct.
  • Conduct risk assessments of partners to identify potential compliance risks.
  • Develop and implement strategies to mitigate identified risks.
  • Design and deliver compliance training programs for partners.
  • Ensure partners are educated on compliance policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor partner activities to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement and maintain controls and data analytics (AI and others) to prevent, detect, and respond to compliance issues.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records of compliance activities and findings.
  • Help drive departmental initiatives, including the development of metrics to measure the effectiveness of our partner compliance programs and the use of technologies to increase efficiencies.
  • Report compliance issues and risks to Head of Ethics & Compliance.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including Legal, Sales, Worldwide Partner Organization.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including partners and regulatory authorities, as needed.
  • Remain up to date on global laws related to the organization and update policies accordingly.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Legal, Finance, Risk Management, Compliance, Public Policy, or related field); advanced degree a plus.
  • Typically 8+ years experience in compliance, ethics, third party/partner risk, or audit with demonstrated program ownership.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional stakeholders (Sales/Channel/Legal) without direct authority.
  • Strong knowledge of legal requirements and controls.
  • Familiarity with industry practices and professional standards, especially relating to anti-corruption, anti-competition, whistleblower, and similar regulations.   Highly analytical with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong AI adopter and proven success in legal or partner operations.
  • A ‘Get things Done’ mindset and ability to find and present sound but also, practical and actionable solutions to adhere to regulations and non-compliant situations.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills
  • Ability to communicate with intention both speaking and in writing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Ability to thrive in a high performance, fast-paced environment and to multitask, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Team-oriented, with a good sense of humor and high level of integrity, responsibility and professionalism, and the ability to build relationships and collaborate across functions.
  • Strong moral code and sense of ethics.

Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 147,900 - 200,000 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off, various Leave options, Performance-Based Incentives, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s), with all offerings subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
