Title:  Solutions Engineer

Job Summary

Primarily shall provide technical expertise for the development and implementation of complex products and solutions for customers.

Shall utilize deep product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through product and solution presentations, and demonstrations.

Conduct Proof of Concept for customers to test specific functionality /application.

Assist the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions.

Shall create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions.

Shall provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation.

Shall work with

   the sales team to create opportunities for NetApp in the assigned market territory.

   the relevant internal teams to address the market and customer opportunities

   the PS and Support teams to address any customer issues and escalations related to NetApp Products and solutions.

   the Partners, Alliances and the necessary ecosystem to create a comprehensive solution.

Shall be the Trusted Advisor to a set of strategic customers.

Job Requirements

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.

Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.

Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.

Creative approach to problem solving.

Shall be articulative about the products, solutions and the overall technology trends

Should be able to present at public forums, partner events and customer events

Travel to the prospective customer's sites as necessary

As a seasoned professional with a wide range of experiences, this individual shall utilize professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.

Shall be responsible for a specific geographical install base and large, complex, high visibility, strategic, or tactically important accounts.

This individual effectively works with, and influences senior internal personnel within the function, employees in other functions that support the sales effort, and has direct customer contact.

Limited management supervision and direction is provided since this individual operates and drives results independently.

The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert and strongly influences sales team decisions and initiatives.

Shall act as a team leader and major decision maker for team projects.

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent experience
