Job Summary

As an Solutions Engineer (SE) in NetApp's Sales function, you are responsible for providing pre-sales and post-sales support for selling NetApp's Products & Services to existing and potential customers. You will utilize your excellent technical and relationship building skills in working with vendors, partner ecosystems and sales to ensure that optimum solutions are proposed to the customers. 

In this position your overall focus areas will be in supporting and developing processes and systems for quick and thorough responses to customer requirements and RFP's, provide systems configuration recommendations, and apply your background and experience to deliver optimized solutions to technical problems. The Solutions Engineer is required to have a deep understanding of end to end customer operations and work as a consultant to customers in identifying key business challenges and position the right technology solutions and data management solution/service to address those business challenges. The Solutions Engineer works on a long-term strategy to improve customer business operations through data management tools and services delivering continuous value to customers business. The SE is also required to work closely with various alliance partners and provide best of breed joint solutions to the customers.

Job Requirements
  • Experience working in a high engagement customer facing role.
  • Strong expertise in Technical Pre-Sales.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal communication and customer service skills are needed in order work successfully with prospects, customers, and cross functional teams to meet performance goals.
  • Account management and project management skills.
  • Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilize them in a customer facing environment.
  • Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices.
  • Creative approach to problem solving.
  • Travel to the prospective customer's sites & locations as necessary
  • Good storage and data management solutions expertise.
  • Hybrid cloud solution expertise and Public cloud certifications would be added advantage.



  • As a seasoned professional with a wide range of technology presales experiences, this individual uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways.
  • Is responsible for a specific customer base and large, complex, high visibility, strategic, or tactically important accounts.

Typically requires a minimum of 9 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience.
