Job Summary

Working closely with the NetApp account team, partners and technical resources, the Engagement Manager (EM) is responsible for promoting professional services to our customers and partners and for defining services solutions to solve specific technical and business needs.

The EM is responsible for accurately determining the scope, effort and price of Advanced Consulting services that form part the solution proposed as well as defining and presenting the benefits of services solutions to all major stakeholders and to describe the approach that will be taken for their delivery.

The EM role encompasses many of the skills common to Project Management, which include the ability to write clear and unambiguous Statements of Work, assessing risk profiles, planning, estimating and communications management.
It is anticipated that 75% or more of the Engagement Manager’s time will be spent in pre-sales positioning, sizing, scoping and crafting solutions, with the remainder being taken with handover, reviews and strategy planning.

Responsibilities:

In addition to the general responsibilities outlined above, the role requires:
• Building close relationships with account teams, partners and customers to influence the services solutions being proposed
• Assessing business requirements to enable compelling value propositions to be determined and communicated to the customer
• Working closely with the consultancy delivery teams and Project Managers to understand capabilities and estimates of effort.
• Accurately sizing and scoping the level of effort (and hence price) of service solutions.
• Presenting proposals and solutions to all levels of the business.
• Liaising with partners and solution providers for the integration of NetApp and non-NetApp components into a unified solution.
• Writing Statements of Work (SOWs) and gaining their formal approval with all major stakeholders.
• Attendance at account planning sessions to identify and build consulting opportunities and plans.
• Developing a deep understanding of NetApp’s Advanced Consulting Services portfolio and a high level understanding of its technical products and software.

Job Requirements

• Ability to interface at Executive level and above.
• Data storage or systems integration/management experience within the finance sector
• Strong business and commercial awareness
• Ability to determine and articulate the business benefits of professional services for a given opportunity
• Project Management skills for all project pre-delivery phases
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both French and English
• Technical background sufficient to understand the technologies and technical issues involved with the solution

 

Education

• A minimum 6 years of experience in a similar role, or as a Project Manager with services sales experience
