Title:  Technical Partner Manager

Job Summary

Primarily provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions.

  Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions. May create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. May build a mini-application based on customer requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client. May provide consultation to prospective users and/or product capability assessment and validation. Report only those incumbents with incentives tied to product sales. 

Job Requirements

 Incumbents matched to this job family must be on a sales incentive plan that is based on individual and/or team sales results (e.g., revenue, bookings, unit sales). 

 

  • Company bonus and/or cash profit sharing alone are not considered sales incentive plans. Incumbents on a combination of sales incentive and company bonus and/or cash profit sharing should also be matched here. If not on a sales incentive plan, match Applications/Systems Engineer Enablement of Partners on technologies and solutions. Understanding and appreciation of the partner programs and competitive offerings in order to build compelling reasons why our partners should be promoting our technologies and solutions to their customers.
  • Evaluating the ecosystem of partners in the region, identifying gaps and working with Channel Sales to bridge that gap, either using existing partners or new ones.
  • Understanding our partners capabilities against the must win areas, strategic goals and key market trends.
  • Working with partners to be part of their solutions for their customers – winning the technology platform for ‘as-a-Service’ and ‘Managed Services’ offerings by our channel network.
  • Working with key technology partners to bring joint go-to-market solutions to our partners.
  • Challenge the status quo and bring new ideas and creativity to the role.
Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
