Job Summary
As a Solutions Engineer/Solution Architect in NetApp's Sales function, you will play a key role in providing pre-sales and sales support for selling NetApp's Products and Professional Services to existing and potential customers. Your excellent technical and relationship-building skills will be essential in collaborating with vendors, partners, and sales teams to deliver optimal systems solutions to our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work directly with customers in pre-sales and sales situations to identify their needs and requirements.
- Define all elements of a customer's technical computing environment and provide systems configuration recommendations.
- Answer customer questions and provide technical support for current customers and 'try-and-buy' test projects.
- Define customer acceptance criteria for 'try-and-buy' evaluation projects and work with Sales to respond to RFPs.
- Attend customer calls with the Sales Representative, providing technical consultation and disseminating product information to the sales team.
- Stay abreast of the latest developments in cloud services and acquire/maintain technical expertise.
- Develop or enhance processes and techniques employed by our sales and technical teams.

Specialized Knowledge:

- Network Architecture and Data Center Visualization
- Storage Networking and Data Management
- Storage Solutions for Video Surveillance and Big Data/Analytics
- Hyperconverged and Software Defined Storage Solutions
- Hypervisors Knowledge (VMWare, Microsoft, KVM, etc.)
- Understanding of traditional IT infrastructures and cloud services (AWS/Azure/Google)
- Technical experience with Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, vCloud Director, etc., is a strong plus.
- SaaS model sales and selling infrastructure as a service.
- Significant knowledge about NetApp's competitive landscape.
- 8 to 12 years of experience in a related field is preferred.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated expertise in technical specifications required to sell NetApp products and services.
- Proven ability to work effectively across functions with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Development teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to apply experience and knowledge in imaginative and practical ways.
