As a member of a platform hardware development team, the engineer will participate in the development, validation, and support of hardware platforms throughout the production lifecycle. 

This position requires an individual to be creative, a quick learner, driven to produce results and demonstrates the ability to lead small projects.

The position’s responsibilities include evaluation and specification of design requirements, driving execution across internal and external design teams, and debugging complex system issues.  This role requires active participation in all phases of development and support from architecture definition and design through implementation, debugging, testing and support.  The candidate for this position will work collaboratively and alongside other hardware, firmware, software, and QA engineers, manufacturing test teams, and external development partners.

Job Requirements

- Strong oral and written communication skills are essential.

- Experience in hardware design and development.
- Familiarity with concepts of computer architecture, design engineering, reliability, prototyping and failure analysis.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment of engineers to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards.

Responsibility and Interaction:
Responsibility:
- The types of tasks this individual is responsible for are a mix of structured and unstructured tasks.
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving routine to moderately complex problems.

Interaction:
- You will interact primarily with your direct manager and the technical team on assigned projects. There may be communication with employees in other functions as required.
- General direction is provided on routine work, and detailed direction is provided on new projects and assignments; as well as on-going review of activities and priorities.
- The ideal candidate works under the direction of another team member or project leader in a team role, and will be an important contributor to team projects.

Education

Must have graduated within the past 18 months or will graduate in the current academic year with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent degree.
