Job Summary
NetApp continues to invest in transforming our products and services into solutions for our customers, working closely with our key strategic alliance and ISV partners. Designed to deliver customer business value and outcomes rather than just technology, we build holistic solutions, and associated GTM approaches, solving our customers’ most pressing challenges while radically simplifying our route to market.
As Principal Outbound Solutions Manager, you will play a unique role that sits at the nexus of strategy and execution for the Solutions Management team in the Field Advocacy and Solutions Technology (FAST) group. You will be responsible for bringing together a broad set of resources from across NetApp and the NetApp partner ecosystem, including Alliance, ISV, and integration partners to deliver innovation that realizes the potential of key Solutions programs
You will focus on the identified key customer imperative of Data Infrastructure Modernization, incorporating virtualization, enterprise apps, and modern workloads and more, across on-premises, hosted environments, and the Cloud, but led from a customer-first perspective. We use NetApp solutions to solve real-world customer problems.
Your leadership capabilities will be put to the test as you simplify complex customer problems into actionable requirements, establish realistic execution plans, and corral a coalition of resources towards meaningful and demonstrable progress, iterating quickly while you build and show value. You will lead by example, influencing teams with diverse goals toward a common goal
You will work seamlessly across multiple groups, including integration partners, alliance partners, ISVs, Engineering, Sales, Services/Support, and the NetApp worldwide partner organization. If you are customer-obsessed, possess a strong bias for action, are results-driven, and love to create clarity out of chaos, then this role is for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Work hand-in-hand with Solutions Product Management and Alliance/ISV leadership to identify and agree on priorities.
- Connect NetApp’s data infrastructure solutions strategy and roadmap with NetApp’s field and partners, by developing and leading execution plans that demonstrate real-world implementations of our capabilities.
- Scale our business by engaging NetApp’s sellers – both internal and external – by positioning our portfolio of solutions to align with customer needs and target outcomes, working closely with our development and ISV partners.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration and serve as the integrator, helping to connect teams that may otherwise remain siloed, especially our Sales, Partner, and development organizations.
- Be deeply knowledgeable – and credibly address – key personas that we need to target to grow our business.
- Help expand NetApp’s solutions businesses into new market adjacencies where the right combinations of market opportunities, differentiated capabilities, and GTM exists or can be built.
- Continuously interface with key Alliance partners (both technical and business functions), services, customers/prospects, sales, channel partners, and ISVs as required for successful execution of your programs.
- Shift from strategy to tactical execution comfortably, and as needed.
- Be laser-focused on the needs of current and future customers.
- Use data and metrics to maximize the quality of the decision-making process.
Job Requirements & Education
- Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree is required, or equivalent experience, with an Engineering qualification being advantageous.
- A post-graduate degree in Business or Technology would be preferable.
- 15 years of overall relevant experience.
- 6+ years of product management in storage and data management, preferably with an outbound or GTM bias, and with a focus on solutions.
- Working knowledge of NetApp’s products and services a plus, as well as competitive landscape, as well as a broad background in compute and network domains.
- Additionally, experience with managed services or similar from a provider point of view is a distinct advantage, as is a background in technical pre-sales and services.
- Preferably 3+ years’ experience with containers and modern database infrastructure such as K8s, Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, NoSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Cassandra.
- Preferably 3+ years’ experience with enterprise applications and databases from vendors such as Oracle, SAP, Microsoft, and more, both on-premises and in the cloud.
- 3+ years of working with one or more public clouds, focused on partnering to deliver both cloud-first solutions and bridging on-premises environments via hybrid capabilities.
- Knowledge of key virtualization vendors such as VMware, Microsoft, and Red Hat is critical.
