Job Summary
The Professional Services Project Manager (PM) is a customer-facing, hands-on individual with a combination of business and management leadership skills. The PM will be responsible for delivering all consulting financial service types sold through the Professional Services (PS) organization. Experience in delivering time-based (T&M), rapid deployment services (fixed price), and statements of work (custom fixed price) is required. The PM will decide on the number and type of team members needed to successfully drive project deliverables. The PM will support the complete PS project life cycle from inception through customer acceptance. This will include support and/or coordination of technical components of the scope, such as detailed architectural blueprints, migration plan and configuration, and technical transfer of knowledge.
Essential Functions
- Manage project to time, budget, quality, and contracted deliverables, including planning, scheduling, milestone reviews, etc.
- Manage all aspects of projects including design, planning, estimating, execution, and implementation
- Work with Services Sales to position technical/business solution with customer
- Identify activities to optimize use of customer backlog hours (T&M)
- Identify, utilize, and manage key resources required to meet project objectives
- Provide guidance and/or supervision to project team members
- Drive project activities of teams and partner sources
- Schedule and lead meetings for architecture, design, and implementation of proposed solution
- Hands-on delivery management of medium to large-sized storage solutions and driving identified PS business initiatives
- Report on and responsible for resource metrics, project team utilization, project status updates, project completion percentages, and revenue recognition
- Responsible for project setup and project team’s time entry, budget tracking, including change requests and statement of work (SOW) review, compliance, and management of agreed-upon deliverables, and weekly updates/meetings with project team, customer, and leadership team
- Drive project reviews for all stakeholders
- Manage accounting, invoicing, and billing information
- Adhere to America’s PMO best practices and standards
- Lead by example – support efforts to develop and launch PS best practices
- Liaison with necessary teams within NetApp to achieve above items
Job Requirements
- Strong spreadsheet capability and other project management applications as required for reporting, project tracking, project checklists, and project scheduling (Microsoft Project, Jira, Smartsheet, etc.)
- Technical understanding of systems, storage, and data management
- Ability to work collaboratively with, and to lead and motivate other employees in a matrix environment to meet aggressive goals and pre-defined timelines
- Demonstrated ability to manage large-team relationships and people
- Confident, disciplined, self-motivated, detailed, and organized
- Some evening and weekend work may be required
Experience/Education
- A minimum of 8+ years of related experience, as outlined above, required
- PMP Certification is preferred, but not required
Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is $130,000 - $193,000. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package.
