As the NetApp Certification and Credential Program Manager, you use both leadership and collaboration skills—working cross-functionally with stakeholders, product managers, subject matter experts, operations, and marketing to implement the certification, accreditation, and badging credentials strategy.  In addition, you are involved in several aspects of exam development. To be successful in this role, you must display strong project-management, execution-initiative, and relationship-building skills. 


Job Responsibilities

Maintain a high-stakes, legally defensible, and psychometrically sound certification program. Ensure alignment with curricula.

Maintain a medium-stakes, high quality, and psychometrically sound accreditation program.

Implement a strategy for outcomes-based badging to grow industry skills around NetApp technologies. Implement a process for enabling and consulting with stakeholders to self service a badging program, implement, ensuring proper communication.

Manage an event-based testing program. Establish and enforce proctor requirements.  Process requests for testing events. 

Manage an exam-voucher program.  Order, distribute, track, and report on vouchers provided to qualified candidates.

Work with multiple systems—internal and third party—to manage candidate and exam data.  Systems include a candidate-data management tool, the NetAppU LMS and BI systems, and project-management systems such as Workfront or sharepoint.

Create and maintain program documents,such as program policies and procedures, exam-development schedules, an exam inventory, and decision logs.

Enforce the exam-security program.  Assist in raising awareness internally and externally on the value of a strong exam-security program. 

Engage with program vendors to insure the highest level of service to NetApp and the certification/accreditation/badging candidates.  Hold regular status meetings to ensure effective and efficient communications.  Assess and advise management on vendor compliance with SLAs and identify opportunities for increased services, improved processes, and so on.

Implement and maintain communications with stakeholders and candidate audiences, including program announcements, quarterly newsletters and/or webcasts, annual audience surveys, and so on.

Interlock with NetAppU marketing to promote the program and the NetApp Certification, Accreditation, and badging brand internally and externally.

Interlock with NetAppU Support Services to address candidate questions and issues.

Research and analyze trends in certification, accreditation, and badging.  Assess how trends might impact or benefit NetApp and bring ideas to senior management.

Provide cost estimates and forecast resource requirements.

Develop and distribute reports on program performance.

Work globally with an international team.

This individual is expected to operate and drive results and set priorities independently. - The ideal candidate is a proactive contributor and subject-matter expert.- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through sustained leadership and ability to influence others.


Typically, the position requires a minimum of eight years of experience related to training, preferably with certification and a Bachelor’s degree; six years of experience and a Master’s degree; or three years of experience and a PhD.
