Job Summary

The Revenue team is responsible for the order management, accurate recording and disclosures of NetApp’s $6 Billion revenue.  The team impacts all revenue – from the accurate processing of orders to the structuring of multi-million dollar licensing deals.

The revenue accounting team is looking for a Director Revenue to provide technical accounting leadership, lead the interactions for product introduction and head the order management team.  The successful candidate will head a team of ~30 people providing leadership – both technical and operational - in all aspects of the team’s work.  The Director will work closely other senior leaders within NetApp’s organization – including in the Controllership, Sales, Field Finance and, Business units.

Job Requirements
  • New Issues and Guidance
    • Develop and document NetApp’s conclusions on key revenue issues – including review with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
    • Provide the technical insights on emerging issues including new accounting standards and evolution to the business model.
    • Participate in establishing scalable processes for our emerging revenue sources.
  • New Product introduction
    • Work closely with new products teams on the introduction of new products into the NetApp portfolio.
    • Ensure new parts and products are set up to correctly recognize revenue.
  • Order Management
    • Lead the Order Management team to achieve flawless operational execution around orders.
    • Drive simplification within the Order Management and Revenue cycles.
    • NetApp continues to be at the forefront of optimizing our leverage of IT tools and processes – look for opportunities to optimize the use of Robotic Process Automation, Revenue and ERP systems and AI.
Education
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting, or MBA
  • CPA Preferred – With experience in revenue accounting (ASC 605/606); Big 4 experience a plus
  • Strong Leadership skills – able to develop the team while improving processes.
  • Strong accounting technical accounting skills – including the ability to document key technical positions and work through questions from External Auditors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at any given time
  • Strong interpersonal skills necessary.  Position interacts with Sales and Business Unit Leadership
