Job Summary

NetApp’s Information Technology team is looking for a Solution Architect who can create and influence effective technology solutions for the Customer Support and Services domain.  The Solution Architect is responsible for mapping the business requirements to systems/technical requirements to ensure they are in line with the enterprise architectural plan.  The Solution Architect helps establish the collaboration framework within IT and with the business stakeholders and provides support to the project management team.   


Strong organizational skills, technical expertise, and attention to detail are key in this customer-focused role.  Requires excellent communication skills to influence and negotiate, while working collaboratively.


Specific areas of responsibility of the Solution Architect include:


  • Review, interpret, and respond to business requirements to ensure alignment between customer expectations and current or future systems capability
  • Provide input to the strategic direction of technology investments to assist in the development of the enterprise architecture and maximize the return on technology investment
  • Within the agreed enterprise architecture, define and design technology solutions to assist the business in meeting their business objectives
  • Oversee the development, testing, and implementation of technology solutions and report on delivery commitments to ensure solutions are implemented as expected and to agreed timeframes


Job Requirements
  • Ability to work with other IT teams and/or external solution providers to understand technology landscape and define and document end-to-end solution architectures
  • Clear ability to turn business and functional requirements into actionable designs, and partner with IT teams to drive implementation
  • Understanding of IT application architecture and cloud development
  • In-depth understanding and outstanding technical skills with core Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platform features (e.g., SAP, Salesforce)
  • Strong preference for exposure to one or more of the following
    • Salesforce/SAP Einstein/Leonardo Artificial Intelligence features such as Data Discovery, Intent, Bot, etc.
    • Design & build of Azure/AWS based systems (EC2, SNS, S3, API gateway, etc.)
    • Technologies like Java, Python, Tomcat, Node.js
    • Consumption and provision of RESTful and SOAP based APIs, SAML / OAUTH
    • Knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL, Bigdata In-Memory database (HANA), ETL/ELT platforms
    • Understanding of Machine Learning, AI, and NLP capabilities and technologies
  • Familiarity with content management tools desired. Knowledge of SEO best practices preferred as well as experience with Knowledge Management tools
  • Working knowledge of IT Business System Analyst (BSA) role and project and product management practices in a large IT organization
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience is required, with a minimum of 2 years working experience as Solution Architect in a large IT organization.
  • A Bachelor of Arts or Science Degree required; Information Technology, computer science, or related technical field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
