Job Summary

NetApp is seeking a senior M&A Integration Leader within the Information Technology group. In this role, you will lead the program for incorporating end-to-end technology and security components of merger, acquisition, and divestiture transactions to support corporate growth and accelerate key company objectives. This role reports to the IT Chief of Staff, Office of the CIO.
As the ideal candidate, you will bring extensive expertise in the M&A lifecycle and possess deep knowledge of all aspects of IT and operational Due Diligence and merger integration planning and execution. You will establish and maintain the playbooks and best practices for M&A transactions and will act as a leader for, as well as an internal advisor to, cross-functional support teams at NetApp. You will track integration process through time, providing management dashboards of progress towards company standard objectives for basic IT services, infrastructure, software applications, and all IT Security components.

Job Requirements

•    Lead pre-acquisition IT diligence assignments focused on the following key areas: Business Systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, CPQ, HCM), IT Infrastructure, IT & Product Security, Data & Reporting, Enterprise Architecture, Software Development Lifecycle, Budgetary Analysis, and Technology Personnel Assessment.
•    Drive Day-1 and Post Day-1 integration planning and execution; track progress against Day-1 and Post Day-1 integration objectives, adjusting strategies and personnel assignments as required. Provide management dashboards on progress or lagging activities.
•    Implement and oversee the quality of deliverables and effectively manage the team and day-to-day relationships to ensure exceptional performance.
•    Serve as a leader in driving M&A integrations in acquisition post-close phases. 
•    Collaborate with strategy and operational groups (e.g., Legal, Strategy, Finance, Corporate Development, HR, Procurement, Facilities) to establish repeatable and reliable M&A processes in NetApp’s Information Technology organization.
•    Direct the cross-functional team, delegate tasks, handle all elements of execution, manage external stakeholders, and help manage leadership communications on each deal assignment. 
•    Participate in transaction execution (pre-sign and post-sign) and guide stakeholders from key enterprise functions (e.g., Product Line, Sales & Customer Relations, Business Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Contracts/Suppliers) throughout the deal. 
•    Must work with Finance and IT Leadership to track and communicate acquisition integration costs and spend plans.
•    Work with corporate strategy, business units and functional teams to improve efficiency and effectiveness at all stages of mergers, acquisitions, integrations, and divestitures; from identifying inorganic growth opportunities to carving out and divesting parts of the business.
•    Work closely with NetApp operational groups such as Order Management, Supply Chain, and Sales Operations to assemble integration timelines and roadmaps for each deal, with a firm understanding of the primary synergies sought.
•    Coordinate with Engineering IT teams to ensure the newly acquired company quickly adopts NetApp minimum standards for efficient product development and IP protection.
•    Work with the IT Security team to ensure pre- and post-close activities are relentlessly pursued. Risk Assessments, penetration testing, security tool integrations, and maturity and compliance evaluations such as the NIST, ISO, SOC frameworks must be completed in a timely manner to assure NetApp brand integrity.
•    Coordinate with Internal Audit to establish audit timelines and focus areas for new companies acquired.
•    Build-out IT M&A capabilities into a true company competitive weapon.

Education

•    10+ years industry experience combined with M&A transactions, corporate strategy, and technology deployment experience 
•    Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Engineering, or Software Development. MBA or advanced technical degree is preferred
•    Demonstrated insights pertaining to key M&A integration methodologies, tools and approaches to accelerate post-close transaction activities
•    Knowledge of IT Strategy & Enterprise Architecture, capability and maturity models, technology rationalization, and cost optimization 
•    Knowledge of IT and product security fundamentals
•    Knowledge of Cloud Infrastructure/Hyperscalers
•    Demonstrated ability to understand deal strategy and drivers, translate business needs into requirements, develop proposed solutions, and deliver high impact change initiatives 
•    Working understanding of key organization E2E Go-To-Market, Finance (Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Business Planning, Budgeting) and HR (Hire to Retire, Record to Report) processes 
•    Effective oral and written communicator who can convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner, comfortable in business and technical discussions 
•    Experience in building trusting relationships and influencing others (incl. executive audiences) 
•    Collaborative team player who is also an independent thinker 
•    Self-starter who thrives and can multitask in fast-paced and often ambiguous environments 
•    M&A expertise in the end-to-end transaction lifecycle with significant experience in Due Diligences and post-diligence Sign-to-Close and post-Close phases, is essential
