Job Summary

As Senior Manager, Sales Compensation Finance you are responsible for managing the Sales Compensation Finance function supporting participant management around the world. You will play a key role in operationalizing compensation programs by planning, developing and implementing new and revised global policies and procedures in partnership with Sales Operations and Commission Accounting.  As a Sales Compensation general subject matter expert, you will be a key business partner to Sales Operations, and Sales Leaders advising on compensation design and operational issues.  

Job Requirements
  • Lead and manage individuals who oversee compensation programs, policies, and monthly commissions processing
  • Business partner to the Sales Leadership and Sales Ops team
  • Ability to understand the complexity of the business and how compensation plans influence and drive the desired behavior from the sales team
  • Be the compensation SME for the field.  Participant in the annual comp plan design program and provide input during the design process
  • Ability to lead remote teams
  • Ensure Sales Compensation Finance team is managing comp plan in accordance with NetApp’s Sales Incentive Compensation plan documents and terms and conditions
  • Support the rollout all compensation plans and new sales processes tied to the measurement of the plan and goals
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams on system and process changes to support comp plan changes
  • Drive oversight on monthly commission processing and validation activities
  • Refer commission exceptions requests from field to Sales Operations.  Review and advise Sales Operations on exception request submissions to the Sales Compensation Review Board.  
  • Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems and proposing solutions
  • Ensure compliance with SOX for our compensation documents and programs
Education and Skills
  • A minimum of 15 years of work experience, ideally in Sales Operations, Sales Compensation, Sales Commissions, and/or Finance.
  • A University Degree, or equivalent experience is required
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple critical projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with Sales Compensation systems
  • Broad conceptual judgment, initiative, and ability to deal with complex compensation issues
  • Understanding and experience developing compensation program policies and processes
