Job Summary

Post-sales position in which predominant job responsibilities and requirements occur after the sale of the company’s product to the client. As a Professional Services Engineer on our Global Services Solutions Center (GSSC) team, you will provide remote post-sales solution implementation and data migration services support for NetApp enterprise and global customers. GSSC Professional Services Engineers team up with NetApp account teams and customers to understand customer requirements, scope appropriate services, and deliver service projects. Service projects include various aspects of project planning, project management, installations, requirements analysis, architecture/design, implementation, optimization, and on-going customer support processes. May be involved in implementing detailed customer installation requirements and ensuring that client’s needs have been met and that the product/solution is fully functioning according to specification. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific applications

Job Requirements
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills are essential to impact senior level technical teams, architects, systems administrators, and senior managers.
  • Data Migration experience of enterprise workloads
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers and senior managers in a team environment in which to share best practices, meet aggressive goals, and meet high quality standards.
  • Ability to understand the customers’ business requirements and relate their requirements to technical solutions.
  • Articulate the end-to-end Migration solutions, with an emphasis on being customer centric
  • Must have direct experience in the following areas:
    • Data migration (NAS and SAN) using enterprise data migration tools (DataDobi, Cirrus Data, Vicom etc.)
    • Enterprise storage platforms administration
    • CIFS and NFS protocols
    • Networking troubleshooting
    • Linux/Unix administration
  • Optional experience might include
    • NetApp ONTAP, HCI, CVO
    • Host based and application-based data replication (LVM, DAG, ASM etc)
    • Object data storage administration
    • Object data migrations
    • Compliance workload migrations
    • Scripting

Public and Private cloud implementation and management

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent combination of relevant education/certifications/training and applicable work experience.
