Job Summary

As a Senior Director of Engineering leading our lab and cloud infrastructure, services and tools team, you will be at the heart of driving engineering efficiency across all engineering as well as fulfilling a pivotal role in  NetApp’s cloud transformation. You will be directly responsible for all of NetApp’s engineering data centers spread across several international locations.  You will also be directly responsible for development and support of the  tools, workflow frameworks, build, CI/CD infrastructure and services that are utilized across engineering teams within NetApp.  You will also be responsible for driving initiatives to evolve the security of our development environment aligned with the Executive Order and improve the overall efficiency of the entire engineering organization.  Finally, you will directly lead a team of over 200 engineers and operations specialists with deep experience in developing and supporting engineering labs, services and tools.

Essential Functions
•    Oversee operations for 15 labs across 9 sites with over 200k physical and virtual assets
•    Manage and evolve the secure development environment for all of engineering
•    Develop internal tools and integrate 3rd party tools for engineering workflows
•    Deliver consistent experience for engineers utilizing Cloud (IBM, AWS, Azure, GCP, K8s), Virtual and On-Prem Hardware Environments (Controllers, Test Clients, and Servers)
•    Deliver business tooling and applications which enable visibility (Cloud spend reporting), cost-control (Governance, Savings Plans, Spot) and planning (budgeting and tracking for global engineering)
•    Responsible for the Build and CI/CD infrastructure with a focus on efficiency, continuous codeline stability, early regression detection, and automatic codeline healing
•    Partner with all engineering organizations and product lines
•    Present regularly to senior leadership on lab operations, security and engineering efficiency

Job Requirements

•    A history of managing lab operations and developing dev/test frameworks and tools
•    A minimum of 10 years of experience as a people and execution leader 
•    Expertise and experience in secure development environments and zero trust frameworks
•    Experience developing engineering tools and services leveraging public clouds, VMs, and Kubernetes
•    Ability to effectively collaborate and drive for results across organizational boundaries 
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential

Education

 
•    A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
•    Demonstrated ability to manage multiple, critical projects across an international team.
